Weight 123.2, WW Bluepoints 31. That 31 included some fantastic chicken parmigiana from a takeout place and several glasses of wine.

Today we have an online coffee get-together and tomorrow we have an online ****tail party. We have to do something!

Yes, the concussed tree trimmer was driving. In fact, I chatted with his father (at a distance) who said that his son's eye was still almost completely swollen shut, it was turning into a major shiner, and he thought he probably did have at least a mild concussion. But stated that there wasn't anything you can do about that anyway. The son worked at tree trimming from 9 am to about 7 pm yesterday. Crazy!

A neighbor next to the condo where a massive tree was removed yesterday was almost having a coronary about the tree removal because she thought it should be retained. It's roots were lifting the driveway as well as the slab on which the next door condo is built so it really had to go. I think this woman was redirecting stress on everything else going on into this issue but she was driving everyone she could talk to crazy all day about it.

On a happier neighborhood note, there was a golf cart parade last night, the second this week. They are going to do them twice a week for now. And someone was drawing chalk hearts all over the road with the word "neighbor" in some of them. Really nice to see!

I think I probably mentioned it previously but a couple of friends here were on a Mediterranean cruise in late October and ended the trip with an illness which in retrospect had the same symptoms as COVID-19. Their entire group got it. They need antibody testing when available too.

Some good news on the TV this morning about the early trials on the new drug Remdesivir. Wouldn't it be great if there was some way to treat this virus?

Stay safe, stay home, stay healthy!

DD-your description of DH's birthday was delightful. I cannot think much else was required! And it just may be one of the most memorable!

Liz-I'm a sucker for chicken parmesan!

Diane S.-is this a cold shrimp salad? I, too, have spent a lot of time on my computer. And Becca has spent too much time on tablet. But we're getting by!

Peps-I had not heard about pink eye symptom. But I have heard speculation that this covid was here and circulating long before early March. And it makes sense to me.

Yesterday I began cleaning out and organizing some bathroom cabinets. I need to do this in ALL my cabinets.

I had to run into Walmart for a pickup of bunnies for baskets but I felt prepared with Diane O.'s masks! And since we were out we ran a couple other errands--post office to forward SIL's mail, and I ran into honeybaked ham to pick up ham. If you haven't done a walmart pickup kiosk (in-store, not the grocery delivery pick up) it is really COOL! Since i just hopped out and didn't have to worry about girls, it was super convenient. It was at the front of the store, a huge tower, and a window slides open for you to scan barcode they email you and then your package is elevatored down just like buying a coke from a vending machine.

I'm still not totally sure what being on the "other side of the curve" will look like. I guess no one does. I really wanted to have a fun themed first birthday for Charlotte, which would've been May 23, and though it looks like we'll be well over the hump, I'm not sure if that kind of social gathering would be acceptable. So then I must decide whether to do just a small family birthday or try and postpone her party. Probably the former. And then our LV trip is 2 weeks after that. It's all 100% cancellable. But according to IMHE, they have already passed their peak and furthermore "zero" beds needed by then!! So I'm cautiously hopeful.

Today I'm cooking some, dying eggs with DSD (she still LOVES this at 21!) and then grilling hamburgers and watching a movie with her this evening.

Good morning! Liz I love the idea of a golf cart parade. Do people decorate their carts? What happens in the parade? Do people sit in their driveway and wave?

Bonnie, I so agree we need the antibody test. I think it is becoming the key to reopening. Plus, plasma from recovered people seems to be a positive treatment for those with new infections. I don't know if plasma has to be matched for blood type as carefully as red blood cell transfusions, but it would seem the bigger pool of donors, the better.

Yesterday turned out to be quite social. We went to Costco, wearing our awesome masks. We stopped by the home of an elderly friend of my husband's, and chatted with him for awhile from the driveway.

When we got home, dh's best friend texted to ask if we wanted to go on a social distancing walk. We met at a state park, along with our respective daughters. (It's so nice, they have been dear friends since they were 2 years old). We each brought our own picnics, and after the walk, sat in appropriately distanced groups at picnic tables. Then our friends started taking things out of their picnic bags. They had joke presents for dh, and then a real present, a box of cigars. Dh and his friend like to smoke a cigar with cognac, so they also brought some, along with plastic cups they had labeled with our names, then wiped down with Clorox, and placed in labeled paper bags. :) So a little surprise party for dh. When it was time to leave, we did surrogate hugs, I hugged my daughter, and said, this is your hug, other daughter etc. It felt so nice, almost normal...

Today dh works, but he has Sunday off. Monday is a workshop day, no student contact required, but we will be doing a lot of virtual meetings. I look forward to checking in with various teams.

Weather is nice today, high predicted to be near 60. Tomorrow, 6 inches of snow predicted for parts of the state, including us. I guess it doesn't matter too much, I wasn't going to be driving anyway!

You and DH's friend made a wonderful birthday celebration for DH!

Some of the golf carts are decorated, but everyone in one is waving and beeping horns. Those of us watching come out and wave and cheer. Just something to raise people's spirits which is needed because a minority are getting rather nasty about many things lately. On that last aspect, the first time they did it some people called the police and the park HOA president to "turn them in". They found out it was perfectly acceptable if conducted with good distancing (it is).

My roots are covered - at least most of the ones I can see! The back, no doubt, is another story. it would be easier if I could just slather all of it in color, but on brown hair if you do that, the longer, already colored parts get way too dark. I can spot people who do that with at home color at a distance. It's that hair color that looks colored and over saturated...

I was convinced I was getting sick last night. A spot of hypochondria perhaps? I had a slight sore throat and my head felt really fuzzy/dizzy when I stood up. I just felt so off. So much so when I woke up sweating in the middle of night I took my temperature. 98.0 - no fever. Maybe as I worried about my throat, it spiraled into psychosomatic symptoms? My mind sometimes works against me! I still feel a spot of post-nasal something, but hopefully it's nothing. I've hardly been anywhere in over a month and when I have, I'm an OCD hand washer, clothes changer and wiper-down of what comes in the house, so if I caught something it just shows how futile trying to avoid viruses is.

My dad's floors were dry as a bone thank goodness. They had cleaned out one of the roof valleys after the first major leak while waiting for the repair people and that seemed to have done the trick for now. Whew. So many spun out cars on the rainy drive there and back. The freeways are so empty, people were treating the slick roads like a racetrack.

The sun is shining again today! We got 4" of rain where I am and over 10" in some of the mountain areas, plus over 3' of snow in some spots. Crazy for April here!

I might pull out my paint supplies today. Although after seeing Bonnie's magnificent crayon projects, anything I could do will look like a preschooler did it!

I think that's all I have for now. Have a good day, all!

Do you ever have allergies? Sometimes I get what feels like a cold, sore throat, a bit of the chills etc, and it goes away fairly quickly. I'll look at an allergen report and see something bloomed. I don't have bad allergies with running, itchy eyes etc. I don't have to take allergy meds, but I do seem to have a histamine reaction with new blooms for a day or two.

I never thought I did, but it's entirely possible. I take a daily Zyrtec because of the hives that also started with of this, so perhaps allergies started too? Today I've gone through cycles of feeling totally normal and then feeling something behind my nose again, but it's not gotten worse and still no fever. Today was sunny after 5 days of rain, so maybe mold or something from all the water?
