Peps
on 4/10/20 12:53 pm

Well, the work week is soon over! Yeah! I am putting my online school to bed at 2:00 pm today. I'm done answering so many emails, blah, blah, blah.... Interesting to note that while I get many emails each day from the same parents, not one parent showed up for my on line office hours - though I did get emails sent during that time. Go figure.

I spent time reading and researching the more mild symptoms of COVID-19. There is growing speculation among California medicos that there was a COVID-19 outbreak in the Bay Area during late January and February. When I discovered that a percentage of patients get pink eye with the virus, that was the clincher! When I got sick, I too got pink eye! I am now pretty certain that I have had a mild case of COVID-19. My symptoms were as follows:

the sore throat, followed by the dry cough, then the sneezing and nasal congestion, then finally some productive coughing with the use of the inhaler, diarrhea, mid-sickness fever, intense chills with shaking and profuse sweating during sleep (e.g. my shirt and pillow were soaked), and the kicker - pink eye.

My doctor emailed me my HMO is not yet testing for antibodies. They are waiting for a more definitive or accurate version/test to appear. He is hesitant to say, that yes I indeed, did have it, but acknowledges that my symptoms are indicative of the possibility. Don't you love Doctors?

I'm actually hoping I had it. If I did, I am done and don't need to worry about myself and won't infect others. But because I am not able to get tested for antibodies yet, I have to continue on as if I am at risk and risk giving it to others. I do wish though that the pain I have in my chest when I cough would be done and go away.

Tomorrow is BFF's b'day. I am going to make Lasagna for him. I do not enjoy making lasagna, but it is his wish to have a homemade lasagna, so that's what he's getting. He also sent me a recipe for Banana Pudding Tacos. I'm wondering if he wants that for dessert. Do I check with him, or just make it? Hmmmmm......

Eating has been okay, but I have to admit I have been doing some comfort eating this week. I also just holed up yesterday in the early evening and watched an episode of Tiger King (can only watch one episode at a time of that crap..., but it does hold a morbid curiosity for me.) and then three episodes of the original Charmed from the late 90s, early 2000s. Lovely, light hearted fantasy fluff. Just what the head doctor ordered!

Off to clean up puppies!

I thought of you when I read the pink eye thing the other day!

Greetings My Faves

No weight today or for months. I am so off the rails. Don't eat big amounts; just not enough protein. And I hole up with skinny pop at about 3 every day. Completely spoiled my dinner last night. DH had shrimp but he came home with a 10 pound enchilada from costco. Can't feed that to the dogs.

Liz so scary on the seizure. Hope there is some help. My neighbor has a teenage dagger that has been having seizures since age 10 or so. CBD oil works well for her to bring her out of one. Not sure if it is used as a preventative. Once she came banging on my door because phone failed and she needed help. Anyway, I don't know if CBD oil is legal for her but its a thought. Is there any kind of med alert that would work?

As to those tree trimmers, concussed guy was driving? Really?

Peps I bet you did have the virus. So stupid that there are not nearly enough tests for the virus, much less the antibodies. I sort of hope you had it too and are now immune. Sure would be nice to know. We have 50 cases up here and 3 in hospital. No doubt it all came up from SF. WE are so isolated maybe it will stay away. Probably just slower to get here. I sure hope our so called president does not try to reopen the county. Gotta listen to Gavin.

I am spending way too much time on the computer mostly playing scrabble. Checked on our studio loan today. Its in process - I think the bank is only about one tiny step ahead of the rest of us.

DH spends all day reading news om his IPAd. He could be Walter Cronkite with all he knows.

I just took some checks over to the bank to drop in the night deposit. There was a line way out the door and into the parking lot for tellers since people were staying 12 feet apart. They have this rent-a-cop that was supervising. He looks like some old member of Willie Nelson's band and you have to look twice to determine that he is an on duty person.

Cecily I hope your dad's floors are ok. I have been hearing about the rain in so cal from brother in Palm Springs. Its been dry up north which is odd. Cool and overcast.

The street sweepers came by today. Now this town is unincorporated and does not have a police force or any government except the water/sewer department. But by jove we have street sweepers!

Just made shrimp salad for dinner later. Now my choices are: fold laundry or take a nap. Hmmm

Take care all. Diane S
