Weight 123.6, WW Bluepoints 7. Today's points will be much higher as we are getting takeout.

The tree trimmers stayed home yesterday (and likely will today) as the fellow who fell wasn't feeling great. It wasn't stated but I suspect he has a concussion.

Scary call yesterday: DD has a genetic form of epilepsy (Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy). She was diagnosed in her last year of college as the muscle/limb "jerks" she had had since childhood became more prevalent. A couple of years ago she had her first full body tonic clinic seizure (aka grand mal). This is the kind you see on TV where the person becomes unconscious and the whole body jerks. Her medication was increased after that but she had another one early yesterday morning. She woke up in her bed feeling the way she had previously with her tongue bitten and she had urinated in her bed. The first time a friend was there to view it. She was alone yesterday but recognized the signs so knew it had happened. She had a friend bring her to the ER where she was checked out and her medication increased again. Scary morning.

Hopefully today is quieter. Stay safe, stay home, stay healthy!

ETA: The tree trimmers are back again today (including the one who fell -he was driving one of the trucks). So I guess he is okay!

Liz-how scary, especially being alone at this time.

Diane O.-I received your package of masks and note yesterday and I was filled with encouragement and a reminder of all the kindness around and thankful for all of it here, right in our backyard. I will post a photo in a bit

DD-hope hubby's birthday went as well as it could! What did you end up making?

DH's job is remote through Apr 30 they just announced. I'm expecting, barring any big changes, they'll be back after that. And I kind of expect that for most everything here.

So it's Good Friday. The lentiest Lent is over. As the meme goes, I gave up a lot more for lent than I expected to! Through it, I have learned how much I don't need, how much I took for granted, and how much I already had. I am thankful for the ability to stock my fridge and take for granted the money to do so or just the sheer availability of food and goods. I take for granted the access to healthcare when I know so many have barriers to it.

No weight yet today.

As nice as it is t have leftovers, I'm getting quite bored. May spring for takeout for lunch but I've been trying to reserve that for weekend since it makes it feel more "weekendy." Dinner plan is baked orange chicken, baked potato and salad.

Liz, how scary for your DD!

Up early as I've been worried about my dad's wood floors with all the rain we've had. They are long gone to MI, but they have several roof leaks here that are on the schedule to be fixed, but with the current issues and the fact that their roof is very steep and slate, it requires specialized roofers. Anyway, I'm driving out there today to see if the buckets need emptying and clean up any water. We've had 3.5" so far and another 2" expected today. That's just unheard of for a storm this time of year in southern CA (and rare for any other time of year too). So we may be hiding from a virus, but we won't be in a drought this summer!

I ventured out to a store for the first time since 3/27 yesterday. I wore the mask I bought (not what Diane sent me that arrived after!) that had a paper towel liner as suggested by the person I bought it from. I couldn't breathe! I was sucking in air through my mouth just to stay conscious, probably dragging infected air in with it. Plus my claustrophobia set in and I had trouble seeing as it slipped up my steeply slanted nose and I didn't want to touch it. I was ready to rip it off and dare the viruses to do their thing. Argh. Good reason not to go out in public.

After my leaky roof rescue mission, I think I'm going to try to color my roots today. Wish me luck. The good thing is, if I mess up, who will see me?

Hugs to all!

My daughter did her own hair, and it turned out really cute! She has long thick hair, and in the last few years it's been blonde, purple, hot pink (she has green eyes that was an awesome look on her) and now burgundy. It costs her so much to get it colored, that now she's thinking she could probably do every other herself.

Mine's just single process brown, and I've certainly watched it be mixed and applied a bazillion times in my life, but doing the back is what I think will be most challenging!

Aaaand, it was the most challenging. Oh well, it's the back of my head. I don't have to look at it.

Liz I can understand how scary it was to hear about your daughter's seizure. Is there any theory as to why the medication worked but now needs to be increased?

Not really, but she needs to follow up with her neurologist. When she had the first one she didn't go to the ER, just her neurologist. But she said she felt much worse after this one and the effects are lingering longer (still very sleepy today, her muscles ache from the seizing, and she can't taste anything because of her chewed up tongue).

My husband told me last night that we gave him a very happy birthday. It really helped that our daughter was here. We decorated the dining room with some things she ordered from Amazon, including a back drop of Times Square. Our kitchen and dining room are in a transitory state, as husband started putting down wood floors just before Corona virus was on the radar. Furniture is scattered all around the house, but it made it easy to decorate :). I went to the drive through at Dunkin for coffee break. Sent him to pick up his bike. Made dinner, the chicken enchiladas he requested (and a small pan of tuna enchiladas, because daughter doesn't eat meat), and a cake from his favorite bakery that had curbside pick up. The best though, was the slide show my daughter put together. (She's reformatting it to post on Facebook today). I felt so many feels revisiting our life one snapshot at a time. He is 60, we have been together since he was 23 and I was 22. Where we that young? So long ago, and yet just yesterday.

We both have today off. When we woke up, he said, well, what do you want to do today, and burst out laughing ruefully. We're out of diet coke, so we might have to suit up and go to Costco. In the midst of all the grief, turmoil, disruption, I look at him, and I know I am very, very lucky.

Hi, everyone ....

Letting you know I'm taking the day off. Nothing bad going on here, but I just feel depleted energy-wise.

So far I've done two crossword puzzles and am proud of that.

As / when I feel more energetic I'll chime in.

P.S. Sometimes you just need to call in sick (bad joke ... I'm not sick).
