You have made some great "pivots" so that you can hold onto things like an Easter celebration.

I too am just itching for some bedding plants. Right now, we can only do pansies, but I would love to buy a basket somewhere.

I would argue to heat the pool. Think of all the money saved by not being able to go out to restaurants, host parties and take trips. Surely that could off set the heating costs.

Weight this morning was 135.0. Eating yesterday was healthier and lower-calorie than on Sunday, although I still didn't plan or track on MFP. Planning and tracking restarts today. This afternoon at 2pm I'll head to town to walk. That will be the first of this week's four trips to town I've promised my therapist (and DD) I'll make.

Sleep last night (under 5 hours) wasn't great, but when I woke up at 3am I grabbed my laptop and scored a Walmart curbside grocery pickup time for tomorrow, which made me feel like a successful Paleolithic hunter-gatherer who will live long enough to breed and pass my genes along. LOL!

BTW, we should occasionally remember that we're all descended from ancestors who got up early, suited up, showed up and brought home the bacon. Or in my case, fresh veggies and fruits, milk, bread, and (for the first time maybe ever) steel-cut oats.

That's all the news fit to print this morning, except to say it's a beautiful day here. I'm already looking forward to my trip to town. :)

Did you see my description about my dream last night above? So weird but nice!

Liz, I DID see that, but in my Q-fog forgot to mention it. Although my house doesn't look like it did in your dream, it is beautiful and beautifully situated.

Unfortunately, I don't have any "live water," which is what we up here call year-round running rivers and creeks. I do have ponds and "dry creeks" that are more than full when it rains here big-time.

However, I could drive for 20-30 minutes in most directions and be on beautiful spring-fed, blue-green, freezing-cold "live" water. I plan to make a field trip to one of those rivers later this week as one of my four-times-off-the-property weekly trips. :)

New word for me yesterday.... incipient..... thank you for broadening my vocabulary. I am surprised it was new for me. It's a good word. I guess I have always used burgeon, though the meanings slightly differ.

So, THANKS!

Steel cut oats are a passion for me. Here's how I make them: 1/2 cup oats, 2 cups water. Bring to a boil, stir or whisk to get rid of any lumps. Boil for a few minutes. (2-3) Take off heat, cover, and put in the fridge overnight. Stir the next morning, reheat a serving, add other delicious stuff, enjoy incredible creamy goodness, vow to never eat rolled oats again. I like cinnamon, raisins, a bit of walnuts, sf torani vanilla, and milk (or cream!). I may also throw in a tsp of brown sugar for the unreplicatable flavor.

The sun makes a huge difference in my mood. As someone who prefers stormy days I wasn't sure that was the case before, but having been locked in for so long I am finding it matters more than I thought. Cloudy or stormy is fine when you're not trapped indoors, but with stay at home orders it's a recipe for the blues.

I had a nice What's App video chat with two friends last night. It does make a difference seeing their faces! My English friend who is now based in the US likes Whats App because it makes it free and easy to video chat with friends in other countries. I'm happy to use anything.

We got loads of rain yesterday and more to come later today and beyond. My good deed for the day was running around closing all my street neighbor's trash can lids (with a garden glove) in the deluge as the trash truck left them all open when it mechanically dumped them. Nothing worse than wet trash can stench. Ooh, something to put on my list of things I could do - power wash the insides of the trash cans...

Off to get on with my day. Sending hugs to all!

It made me smile to picture you out in the rain, sporting your work gloves, while helping your neighbors.

Sun would be so wonderful. Statistically, this has been a very overcast year, like record-breaking overcast. In the 2 weeks we have been quarantining, I think there have been 3 full day, sunny days.

Hmmm... Another task for tomorrow after the trash is taken (cleaning the trash containers)!

Snagged a grocery delivery slot from Wal-Mart, but I couldn't get chicken breasts, and DH requested chicken enchiladas for his birthday dinner on Thursday. I know he would accept a menu change, but he already had to postpone his NYC celebration, and jeez, I'd like the man to have what he wants. I may decide to run in and grab chicken and leave.
