I had stocked up pre surgery moreso due to the fact I couldnt drive for 6 weeks. DH is going out maybe once a week for fresh fruit and veggies but we pretty much could live for a couple of months at least with what we have here

Im thankful

I do think grief is a reasonable response. I sling shot between feelings, sometimes when I'm really immersed in an project/activity/work, I forget what's going on out there, other times, my eyes suddenly well up with tears. It's just a whole lot.

Good Morning All

Weight 170.92 - up from yesterday but will be swelling

Had a pretty good day yesterday. My first full day at work (incl overtime) and I felt like I achieved a lot. Finally got a chunk of time with my director in order to sort out a lot of things that had been hanging around way too long. Even managed a Service Board meeting - so its cleaned up and we all have a good idea as to what needs to be scheduled etc. Its certainly slowing down as with a lot of companies but so far so good for us. Trying to use the time to get ahead in quoting etc as that also generates consulting in some cases. The hardware side has slowed down a lot as most companies have now moved staff home and things are settling into the new kind of normal I guess.

I made a delicious Chinese Wombok Noddle Salad with chicken for dinner. Sat to chop it all up and then mixed together. Its one of mums favourites. She enjoyed it. Then gave her Stewed Rhubarb with Vanilla Yoghurt. It was a nice meal. DH and I cooked up the big boiler pot of Chutney and put it in Jars - we got 32 so that will do us and our family/friends for the year. I will ask mum to help today by starting to chop more tomatos whilst we work. Sauce is next. Then we will finish off the tomatos by making Relish.

Physio will be here any minute. Its my last session for the week. Next week we move to once a week. I managed to stand and shower myself and wash my hair this morning without assistance. Nice feeling. Definately progressing. Only had to take stronger pain meds at bedtime last night - pretty much on paracetamol during the day plus slow release pain killer - looking to stop them totally when they run out on the weekend and see how I go. I can always get GP to write up a script if I find I need them.

Love to you all. You are in my thoughts a lot during the day/evening. So very thankful that we have each other during this time.

Glad your Mom is safely tucked in with you. That brings some peace. Remember super woman, there's still a lot of healing to do. Pace yourself :)

Not going to lie.... I have been enjoying cooking again. When I have the time to do it, I enjoy it. When I don't have the time, it's a flipping chore! Last night I served up baked potatoes, a nice chopped salad with sun dried tomatoes and feta cheese with an Italian style vinegarette, and a nice, thick boneless leg of lamb steak fried up in my cast iron skillet. Damn, it was good! Sadly, there is no left over lamb because someone who looks a lot like me left the cutting board a little too close to the edge of the counter and a sneak azz Airedale helped him or herself to a second dinner. It was only a few ounces, but Ron was pissed!

Staythefuckathome.... my trainer offered me one on one training. She and I would be the only people in the gym. I jumped at the opportunity because I've been missing the gym and lifting. It honestly helps me in several ways, but most importantly as a dopamine enhancer. However, the more I thought about it, I just couldn't do it. It's just the wrong thing to do on too many levels, but the most ominous to me is I can't control that environment and who was there before me. Heaven forbid I go do my thing and even being super careful, I pick up a virus cell and share it with someone (say Ron) who gets very, very sick or dies from it! I'm pleased with my adult self for stepping up, taking charge, being rational and sane, and thinking beyond my own personal addictive needs. You all may think, duh... what was he thinking, the stupid ass,..... but Im telling you, the lure was real.

Okay, no idea why that paragraph i s now in a different font... something happened and I am not able to fix it. Hmmmmm......

I need to create a list of projects for the coming weekend. It is so easy to **** the days away not doing much of anything... I wish I had a bit of the keep myself busy gene that some of you and many of my friends seem to have.

Hey all,

We heard today that a person on my aunt's rehab/nursing care facility floor has tested positive. My aunt was moved several months ago from her new assisted living place to rehab after getting sick and losing her ability to walk and move herself from bed to chair, which was hanging by a thread. In addition to dementia symptoms, she also has COPD. So the diagnosis of another patient is very concerning. My cousin said my aunt is very worried about the staff, but doesn't seem to fully appreciate her risk, which he said they are thankful for. So she may be my crazy aunt with a serious lack of a filter, but I love her and hope she can stay safe through this.

I had my Zoom therapy appt today. That's working fine. Ferg had a quick walk this morning. They were cutting the park grass and he wants to eat ALL the cuttings (which were substantial today). So we veered home early. We'll walk another way tonight.

BB, not sure my shopping habits would be helpful to you as feeding one person who is willing to eat the same thing many meals in a row is far easier than feeding a family! I have gotten some takeout ordering extras when I do, picked up a few extra things when I absolutely had to go to the store for something specific or have had Amazon Prime Now deliveries. Fruits like apples, cuties, or bananas seem to last a while as do big bags of carrots, sugar snap peas and broccoli. Then I use meat from the freezer.

Not much else to report. Please take care of yourselves!

After finishing work, I slept from 3pm - 6:30pm. What is happening? I haven't been around anybody but my 2 housemates for 2 weeks, I'm sleeping enough, eating pretty well...go figure.

I'm glad I did stay connected with school, I was able to help some of my students navigate a few issues. That's the satisfying part of the day.
