Weight 125, WW Bluepoints ?
DD is leaving for home today and I am feeling very anxious. At some point during a night of no sleep it occurred to me that I might never see her again. I have a significant feeling of dread this morning.
I will probably be better later after exercise and tomorrow after more sleep. But I think today is going to be tough.
Stay healthy!

First, the weight drop .... This morning my scales reported the lowest weight in more than a year. It feels like my body is responding to the pandemic/quarantine similarly to how it behaved for several months after my husband died and I was basically in a state of emotional shock--wound tighter and "vibrating" faster (higher metabolic rate?) and I dropped down to 129. I certainly can't explain this continuing weight loss on how much or what I'm eating, which overall is good. I'll just keep doing what I do--watch what's happening with my usual metrics.
Liz, your feelings are quite understandable to me. It's a dangerous time. And yes, good sleep and exercise always help. But some days are tougher than others.
I look forward to hearing here how everyone's doing, whether up, down, mundane, dramatic, good, bad, blah, boring, upbeat, funny, etc. I can't imagine everyone will be on the same page at the same time. Our situations and stressors right now are situationally different from one another's and vary from day to day.
It's raining here today. This morning it's the Zoom Room meet-up with best buddies. Then in the afternoon a trip to town for curbside pickup groceries and to get the mail. And in between meditation, writing, walking, some exercise, laundry, and maybe even mopping the kitchen.
Love and courage to all!

Still raining ! Spoke with NYC DD last night. After we'd talked for a while and she'd given me a glimpse into her life she said, "I really just need one of your hugs, mom ! Then I want you to French braid my hair." Now, she has long, fine hair with lots of curly tendrils. For various activities like marching band, dance recitals and parts in plays, she needed French braids. It was always a major undertaking, with me and the spritz bottle cajoling everything into place. I tried her patience and she tried mine, yet in this turmoil and high stress, remembering this experience helps her feel close. So grateful ! I so wish I could hug her ! Oldest DD has her husband, but NYC DD is isolated from family and is under such stress.
Love you all !

Oh Diane, I wish you could hug DD and braid her hair. It is so hard to be apart from our loved ones, especially our children. I used to French braid my DD's hair too.

My continues to stay up.
At first I had a lacking appetite response to the pandemic but now I seem to be eating for entertainment, comfort, everything. Healthy foods just don't seem very cabin-fever-friendly.
Ann-I too find music to be so important to the soul. All the better if I jump around to it, and bonus my kids like to get their energies out that way too.
Liz-so sorry about your worry for DD. Is she going back to Mass?
I'm loving that some of us are making future plans! I know mine may have to be altered but at least for now I find the hope to be very helpful.
I was also sorry Devon had to cancel his. But next year will be here before you know it!
No walk yesterday since it poured most of the day. I made turkey pot pie from the leftovers. Again not exactly a diet-friendly meal but my go**** was good and I had everything on hand. I'm not sure how long I can make it without going back to grocery store. I mean in dire need I could wait but I'm also seeing around Apr 15 as projected peak so part of my thinking is maybe I want to go soon and try to stock up for a month...but then are they even allowing that? There's definitely a fine balance between not wanting people to hoard but people not wanting to go back to the store every few days! I would love to make it thru April without needing to go back but that's unlikely soooo...
Today I'd like to start looking at Easter stuff: menu and baskets for the girls. I need to go back and reference Shirl ;) I think we'll probably do our own little Easter egg hunt, go ahead and put on the girls' Easter dresses, take family photos, and have my mom and dad over for a ham meal. Watch church online. BTW, if any of you would like to virtually attend church with me, I could drop a link on facebook. I personally have found the messages to be very uplifting.
A lot of us are probably watching Tiger King. I want to put it out there that Okc is very different from small town Davis Oklahoma! That being said, I've been to the park. In general I don't really care for zoos or the idea that animals are locked behind cages. And these cages were fairly small considering they hold big cats. However, I'm almost embarrassed to admit how much I enjoyed it. The cats were beautiful. And you're definitely more up close and personal with all the animals. I remember we could buy peanuts or marshmallows to feed them. They had told us some like peanuts, some like marshmallows. That was not true. All love marshmallows. So the chimps were double caged. Rich tried to toss a marshmallow to one of them and it hit one cage and fell down in-between. We watched this chimp do a 2-step process to retrieve the marshmallow. First he took a banana peel and swung it like a lasso until he brought a stick close enough for him to grab it. Then he used the long stick to pull the marshmallow in. It was unbelievable. There is also a little place nearby called Arbuckle Wilderness where you can drive-thru the park and feed animals from your car. They have things like giraffes and camels and ostriches. I'll never forget a camel came up to eat and my DSD took a selfie and before she knew it, the camel's head was in the car and on her shoulder! And of course after you do all that you need a famous Arbuckle fried pie.
Good memories.
SIL has been in hospital. Her kidneys were not working properly with all the meds, etc. And now she sounds like she's having trouble breathing. Unsure if it's just the cancer, the treatment, covid-19 Obviously the hospital is the last place anyone wants to be right now and she cannot have any visitors so she's having trouble keeping up with what doctors are telling her.
But the girls keep me busy and focused on something else.
Yes DD is going back to Massachusetts. A couple of people who were working in her office came down with covid-19 so everyone that was in the office with them is now quarantined. DD is quarantined for 14 days regardless because of travel.

My husband's Dad is from Goodman, Mo. Sadly, a lot of my husband's cousins are supporting the meth business. Some of the sweetest, kindest people, turned into zombies with missing teeth. Have you ever seen the movie Winter's Bone? It was filmed near Goodman, and felt too truthful.
And we in Minnesota like to argue we are not Fargo (which why our hometown boys, the Cohen brothers named their masterpiece for a North Dakota city) ... but, there is something there that feels like home :)
