Rained all weekend, but managed to get both dogs out for a walk. Our back yard is extremely muddy, and they love crawling around on their bellies in it. OH MY ! Good thing they are well loved. Continuing to make masks 4-5 hours a day. Things in NYC continue to degrade. A field hospital in Central Park. Unscrupulous doctors are putting pharmacists in untenable positions, trying to stockpile promising drugs for friends and family. A crisis like this certainly brings out the best and the worst in people, and I have to believe in karma, and that good will prevail.
Love you all !

Diane, I think this crisis is bringing out the best and the worse in people. People like you and so many are doing whatever they can to help and taking care of those who are sick or compromised. Healthcare workers are putting their lives and their families lives on the line every day. But the worse comes out too as you point out. I am in an FB group for my town on Cape Cod and things are really getting nasty there. Talk of guns to keep out people from NY fleeing there. I can't even read some of the postings.
On another note yesterday we took a drive along Casey Key off the coastline north of Venice. We opened all the windows and the sunroof and it was almost like being outside. A narrow road winding with beautiful ocean views and amazing properties.
This morning I cancelled our late April Key West trip. The hotel is refundable but the ferry is a credit good for two years.
Today is DD's last full day here. I will miss her but she needs to get back for her job. I hope she will be safe. She isn't too good about taking this seriously (as opposed to DS who us extremely anxious). Different personalities.
Have a safe and healthy day!

Probably a good call on Key West.
Our rescheduled Vegas trip is June 5. That may be pushing it. But it's completely cancellable, so really no ris****ep seeing somewhere between Apr. 15-Apr 20 as peak
I'm just mentally trying to make it to Memorial Day. I think a pundit put it best who said it's like when your trainer says "do just 15 of these." Even if ultimately they say "ok do another 15 more." For me Memorial Day is a manageable and doable time to stay pretty isolated. Charlotte's first birthday is Memorial Day weekend. I doubt it'll be as big of an event as Becca's but maybe things are good enough to at least have some extended family. We'll see. And my parents' anniversary is June 14. If things are better, I'd love to celebrate that.

Diane O.-man that is a tough position
Weight: 163.8
I can't believe the jump in my weight. So I guess don't do what I do. I have eaten pretty well this weekend, but I suspect half of this is real and half not. Must try to reel it in now.
Smoked turkey was so so good. And it was fun using up the stuff in my freezer.
We took another walk yesterday. The girls enjoyed it so. Today will be rainy and cooler so we're inside.
My plan for dinner is a turkey potpie. But that will be a bit caloric so I may reevaluate. I'm stuck between trying to eat right and just makin it work.
I think I will recharge my fitbit and try to go on one or two walks a day when it's nice, and look up some online workouts. I had just begun to get back into a workout routine before this crud. Darn.
I had thought about buying some protein shakes for breakfast and lunch. While I don't have anything going, anyway. But this is also a slippery slope for me. I don't want to wreck my attitude toward food. I'm thinking on it. But how awesome would it be to come out of this 10lbs. lighter? I wish I didn't hate cycling. I can see how Peloton could make a killing.
An attorney I know passed of covid yesterday. I haven't been practicing since last April but I was just talking with him at a continuing legal education in December. He was well respected and so very nice. This is going to hit people we know.
Sorry to hear about your friend Bonnie. I don't know how we can really prepare emotionally for what might be coming. Take it day by day, I guess.
In a burst of optimism, I rebooked our hotel for NYC. We are staying at the Warwick near times square. I upgraded to a king with an outdoor terrace. An unheard of luxury for the likes of us, but it ended up the total was $300 more for the whole week than what we had originally been planning on. It can be cancelled if needed. Even if the trip doesn't work out, I'm going to get a lot of enjoyment about imagining us drinking coffee on the terrace in the morning, and inviting our friends/family to join us for ****tails.

The Big Coronavirus Quarantine Question (will I shrink down to nothing?) has finally been answered, and the answer is No. A second mystery has also been solved: What is the Ultimate Slider Food? It's banana crème pudding, which slides out of the bowl into the mouth and down the gullet without me even noticing what's happening. Lesson learned, and I will NOT be making that dish again.
This morning I woke up in quite a funk, thinking, "I can't survive living alone like this for the next few months!" And then I got up and put in my AirPods for the first time since surgery, turned on a jumpin' Pandora station, and life is beautiful again. I'm dancing like nobody's watching ... BECAUSE NOBODY IS! BTW, dancing is a lot easier and probably looks cooler while wearing socks than rubber-soled shoes. Plus I have recorded more steps on my Fitbit before lunch today than I had when I went to bed last night.
And talking about dancing, when we can all safely shelter wherever the **** we want to shelter, there are going to be EPIC PARTIES! For instance, what this town badly needs is a rockin' sock hop on the local college's basketball court. After that I plan to party for several months on several continents like it's 1999!
So that's where my head's at right now. Peace out!
