  • What did I do to nourish my mind, body and spirit, to invite balanced health ?
  • What am I grateful for today?
  • What did I do for the greater good?
  • New Normal Insights:

I got outside to rake for about an hour, before it started to rain. We had more yummy soup and great oranges from our Misfit box. I did put up holiday light "blankets" on two bushes in the front. So far, I'm the only one but I'm also not driving around to look. I blocked and unfriended a HS friend who posted pictures flaunting outdoor socializing in her FL retirement community, giggling that the social distance police just barely let them remain together. Resenting people for being irresponsible while I am sheltering in place is a waste of my energy, so bing, bang, boom...permanently GONE. My Fitbit sleep score remains in the low end of fair, I think partly because DC has the TV on. He needs it for now. I previously ordered a tub of industrial grade disinfectant, which arrives this week. It is overkill for us, sheltering in place. We brainstormed places we could donate it, and decided on our local volunteer ambulance squad. I'm grateful for all of the improving health in this group and for relatives able to make it to you. My sister-in-law winters in Panama, and tried to get home early, but they have closed their boarders too. She is a cancer survivor, and has a beautiful apartment in the mountains with access to food.

Be gentle with yourselves and please continue to be present here. This beloved Tremendous Tribe comforts and sustains me. Love you all !!

There is a post from both you and Ann, but you were first, so good morning!

Weight 125.2, WW Bluepoints 7. Lots of meat, fish and veggies yesterday.

Well, the beaches and the restaurants are closed. Thank goodness I have Justice to take out for exercise.

I am trying not to overload on news, but hoping that there will at least be a treatment developed soon that works. Our leader does not inspire a lot of confidence.

Not much going on today other than getting DD an allergy medication that doesn't put her to sleep. She is allergic to dogs and pollen, both of which are flying around in our air here. She bought a benedryl generic and couldn't stay awake.

As usual lately, I pray that you all stay safe and healthy!

DianeO, your post beat me to market by mere seconds! Happy to switch over here. :) How's your patient faring? And how's his caregiver doing?

Shirl, are you getting out of hospital jail today?

So glad to hear from everyone and of all the variety in our approaches to self-quarantining and the lessons and insights you're sharing with us.

I'm also extremely proud of us for being responsible and following what appear to be the most aggressive shelter-at-home rules recommended around the world, no matter what our local "rules" are. Here's hoping that enough humans will be equally responsible and our collective adulting will have a big enough and positive enough result to benefit all mankind.

Day Four of neck lift recovery and yowzah! Everything is definitely more puffy and more bruised today. I hope this is the worst of it. On the good front are my good drugs (Oxycodone and Tizanidine). And I've had no fever at all. And mercifully I have plenty of walking room inside the house, where I'm still playing it safe by using the walker most of the time.

Yesterday I didn't eat as much as I wanted to. By suppertime after hydrogen peroxiding my stitches, showering and washing my hair again, and putting polysporin on my stitches all I could manage was another protein drink. I'm not so worried about my minimal sleep in the bed at night, because I'm napping so much during the day. Once again, I'm grateful for these pain pills that knock the discomfort down from a 6 to a 2-3.

Yesterday I missed my 6K steps, but did make it to 5K. Will go for 6K today. It's distracting to have little daily goals like cals and steps and protein to focus on.

Today's big adventure will be picking up my pre-ordered groceries at Walmart between 3 and 4 pm. I'll take my next pain pill after I return home from that outing. I've heard that I won't have to hand my credit card to the person who loads my groceries in the back of my car or sign anything. I can conduct the whole transaction inside my car with the windows rolled up. And if I learn differently, I'll let y'all know. :)

Devon, that love letter that you posted on FB from your sweet student (whom you taught to say "My parents and I ... " instead of, I assume, "my parents and me ..." as the nominative pronoun) was so emotionally delicious! Thank you so much for sharing that. Your kids must miss you very much!

...me and my parents.... is the lingo of 8 year olds..... EEEEK!

The other one I have a lot of fun with is,"Can I go to the bathroom?" My reply: "I know you can. You've been doing it for years. I bet you're an expert at that by now." At which point the child giggles, rolls eyes, and makes a big deal of saying, "MAY, I go to the bathroom, please?"

Hi everyone. Ann glad you can get your groceries contact free. I am probably going to have to venture out to a grocery store today. DH and I could manage with what we have, but DD is a vegetarian, so I need a few more non meat sources of protein for her. Perhaps pounds of delicious cheese?

More work on my office and cleaning in general. Spring break has officially begun for me. DH will start his vacation on Tuesday.

Last night I shopped online for at home kits for highlighting my hair. Dare I? Thinking about it. If I mess it up, who will actually see it?

Peace be with you all.

I bought a highlighting kit the other day just in case I can't stand it. LOL!

I got this because I plan to only do the roots on my crown (for now). I have NO IDEA how well this will work!

On the eating front I am failing. I am 280. I fast for a day or two then re-gain what I lose. Desire to do better is vacant.

I have kept the road hot between the shop in the woods and our rental house. AC repairs that I am unable to fix and then the stove had to be replaced. Then went back for some banking business.

Arkansas has been slow on the spread of virus. I fear it will spread quicker than average ounce it starts due to lack of education. I have -friends- that believe this is all political and media hype. Schools here are closed. Adalyn' s therapeutic daycare is open but we will be keeping her home. DD#1 is in nursing school and will most likely do the rest of the semester online. DS#1 is well informed and tries educating via social medial with good information. DS#2 is a PA for a surgery department in Lakeland, FL. All elective surgeries are cancelled. DS#3 and DD#2 don't have a clue. My 88 yr old mother says she is aware that social distancing is what should be done but she still plans to go to church every time the doors are open. My DW parents are reluctant to change routine. Church leaders have closed services for now. To all my unbelieving friends, I have tried to teach that this virus will sweep through our country just like all of the other countries. The goal for now is to slow the spread. My heart aches for those that have multiple health issues. For I know several that have a hard time oxygenating now. And for those who don't have the money to prepare for the next few weeks. This virus supposedly is not heat tolerant so I am hoping for warmer weather. I have been modifying my utility trailer to be able to back up to a log and load it. I plan to drag some out of the creek today.

I keep hoping to pull up some motivation but haven't grabbed any yet. It made me embarrassed to actually type the number. Maybe that is a start to motivation. I know this is a safe place but it is still embarrassing.

DS and DIL sold the pharmacy in January. They were planning to travel after they get the farm in order. Change of plans.

The new owner is doing drive through only. DW was working a few hours reviewing RXs and giving an occasional shot. She is staying home for now.
