P.S. The extra calories yesterday came from a late night GNC protein drink that's a new, glorious flavor... cookies and cream. OH EM GEEEEE! 25 grams of protein and 170 calories of deliciousness.

Liz, the heart from Tierny is wonderful. It tells so much about the love with which you and Paul enveloped your family. You are a lucky woman to have a grown daughter who is able to honor you with such beauty. You and Ann will have much to talk about as the months go forward.

Ann, so sorry you have succumbed to a cold, too. Hope your cold is much more mild than mine. Today is day 7 for me. I did not wake up feeling nearly as ****ty today as I did yesterday. That's a win for sure! Did get up around 5:30 because I needed the inhaler. Got up just before 7:00 to let dogs out and play with Dinah. Went back to bed and had spotty rest until about 9:00 and then fell asleep dead to the world until 10:00, which is when I got up. I'm going with the fact that my body wants the rest and it's okay to allow myself this time to heal. I'm trying to learn to practice what I preach.

The RD appointment was WONDERFUL! I so enjoy the woman. She really knows her stuff and she is real! I guess it helps that she has walked the walk. We talked a lot about my eating disorder. She mentioned that my eating disorder was pretty young. I asked if eating disorders usually took on the age of when they began and she said yes. So, I'm guessing my eating disorder began sometime between the ages of 7 and 12 because by the time I was 13 I was already going to WW. We talked about the differences between losing weight and me wanting to eat "normally". She is very hesitant to use the word normal, which I appreciate. I told her I know how to lose weight. I can do that, but what I have never been able to do is sustain that weight loss over any significant amount of time. That's what I want to work on first. I want to habituate a type of eating that is normal and sustainable for me. I also want to address the problems I face with refined sugar. I picked a goal for the week, which is to not eat "sugar" foods while at work. I can eat them at any other time of day, just not while I'm at school. She counseled me that my eating disorder would challenge me and test me and I need to have plans in place to deal with that inevitable sabotage. I am appreciating this different approach managing my weight and eating. I am optimistic.

Weight was down another pound today. Have to love my cold for that! Whether it's water or fat I'm losing is immaterial to me at this point. Seeing the scale go down is satisfying and motivating.

Ever onward, one and all!

I'm so glad you like your RD and that she is so knowledgeable about these issues. I look forward to learning from her as well. And thank you for paying her.

I know, right? Yesterday's session was $120. But I figure it is money well, well spent since I already seem to be getting some benefit from the first two sessions.
