Flashbacked to assisting my Dad with an emergency cesarean and being handed a puppy and told to massage it, and feeling that puppy come to life in my hands. Let the life force in Dottie's puppies amaze everyone in the surgical room.

Good Morning All,

Popping in and what wonderful news with the arrival of some of the puppies - Thinking of Dottie and the unborn pups. No doubt Peps you are exhausted with the whelping then race to the Vets. Please let us know when you can how they all are xx Crossing everything over here for a positive delivery for mumma and the remaining 2 puppies.

No weight again this am - will weigh tommorrow

Busy weekend. Friday night I had the CT scan so they can start making my new knee. Should be ready in 2 weeks. Things are definately getting real now. I have various medical appointments this week in preparation.

Did lots of gardening out the front as from today Im not allowed to do any due to increased risk of infection. DS helped me and its really taking shape. Made a nice pork dish for dinner with coconut rice - we have leftovers for lunch. Also made a chicken casserole to take to DSS tonight. Will leave some for DS dinner too. DH left for Brisbane again yesterday. This should be his last week as he needs to be home to look after me once I come home from hospital. This week will be spent trying to get the million and one things I need to do - done. Head is spinning a little. DS had an issue with University enrolment - they dropped 2 of this 3 selections and he of course hadnt let me know! So spent over 1.5 hours on the phone Saturday to them to get it sorted. Thankful to have that done as he starts back tommorrow.

Saturday we went Axe throwing for DSD birthday - its what she wanted to do. It was actually quite fun. All the kids came with the exception of DSS and his partner. We had a good giggle.

Liz - Enjoy the visit from your friend and sorry to read about your SIL fall

Diane O - Hope the YMCA visit was good. When is DH next surgery scheduled

Ann - Hope you had a great trip to the bog city

Cec - Enjoy having Barkley there. How does Ferg handle having to share Mums time?

Diane S - Enjoy the popcorn and hope you get the hand sanitiser soon. I can relate re the short and getting shorter

DD- You sound like you are a wonderful teacher :) Your students are blessed to have you

David - Loved the IPAD stand - you are truely clever

Paula - sorry to see you both have colds. Hoping the sunshine chases them away so you can enjoy the rest of your honeymoon

BB and any others I have missed - Hello x

I had better get moving. I have a chest XRAY at 9.30am this morning

Love to you all

S

I've given more thought to my doctor's suggestion to try a pre packaged, pre measured food plan. The one he recommended was shelf stable entrees and protein drinks. You eat the entrees and add fruits and vegetables. The calorie count with the added fruits/veggies is 1,200 -1,300. So less than the current plan he initially prescribed. We don't have a lot a social outings that involve food the next week or two, so now would be a good time to practice a more regimented menu. But there is no way I am living on shelf stable entrees unless coronavirus has swept through my school and they're the only food available. And I don't do protein shakes, but I will make high protein iced coffees with fair life milk. So, I wrote up menus based mostly on frozen, pre measured foods, like healthy choice meals, Amy's black bean burritos etc. All things I know are palatable enough. I set the calorie count at 1200 -1300, and entered the various meals into my fitness pal so they'll be easy to track. I guess this is experiment 215,013 in trying to lose some regain. I'll let you know how it goes.

PUPDATE #2....

Dottie and both pups made it through with flying colors. The big boy who was the problem needed a little extra help to take hold, but he is doing just fine. Dottie is wiped out and exhausted. She is being a very good mama dog, but I think is feeling a little dazed by the anesthesia.

I ate a little something when I got home and fell asleep sitting up. Around 3:30 I went to bed to take nap. Slept until about 6:30.

Not sure I mentioned, but I also came down with a cold yesterday and now it is in full swing. I'm sure pulling an all nighter did not help.
