Where is everyone???? It is almost 11:30 am on the east coast and I am first?
Weight 126.8, WW blue points 16. Another 2-3 weeks to get under 125 (my WLS goal).
Yesterday we went to an outlet mall. I got a great Dooney & Bourke blue purse in my color for $55. Time to stop buying...
Right now I am at an HOA meeting - it is going to be contentious (presentation right now). It is cool today so I don't know what I'll do afterwards, but I have yoga at 4.
Have a wonderful day!

I forgot to mention that I booked 2 days in Key West in April. I have never been there and it has been on my list of places to visit for a long time!

We went there for our honeymoon 33 years ago, and I'm still trying to get back. It's a great place, and can be anything you want it to be. We snorkeled a lot, took in some great sunsets, ate at a lot of restaurants that were basically hamburger joints, on a deck on the sand. There aren't a lot of beaches, It's pretty much a big hunk of coral floating in the sea. We enjoyed seeing the bars with slogans like, see the keys on your knees, and one tequils, two tequila, three tequila, floor. We're not big drinkers, so that wasn't our scene, but I admired their word play.

i just woke up, that's my excuse! Today I need to pick up for the cleaning people, go to therapy, and come back to get Barkley settled and take my dad and his wife to the airport. Thankfully, they are leaving their car with me and flying out of SNA which is 15 minutes away rather than LAX which is a nightmare.
Off to get started...
I over slept. I was several minutes late for work - a teacher's nightmare!
I am stupefied by my continued feelings of anxiety around eating and food. I can't quite get a grip on the feelings and from where they are coming. It is very disarming and carries a feeling of hopelessness and worry. Just weird.
I am having a lettuce wrapped burger for lunch.
I should not have weighed after flying. It was bad - 273+
That is all.
Frightening indeed! Speaking of, what's with all these movies with teachers arriving to school when the students are already there, walking through groups of kids, high fiving them? Don't they have staff meetings, and IEP meetings, and PLC meetings, and students who need to meet with them before school to make up a test?

I'm here, I'm here! Late, but here. I swear, if I don't get up before 4:30 a.m. I never catch up.
Dinner last night with the other widowers was nice. It's good to be with folks who have something big in common. We also laugh and talk about current events, arts, literature, even a little politics. But our main reason for being together is to check in with each other and support each other re our ongoing adaptation to no longer being part of an "Us."
WW weigh-in was surprising--I gained 1.2 pounds. I think the deal was that last night was the first time I've eaten a baked potato since starting WW. Heck, maybe in 2-3 years. They're not my thing, but there it was, and it looked good. Forward. :)
So coronavirus is getting real. Thank the Lord our Vice President is now in charge of dealing with it, because he's obviously the most qualified person for the job. #SorryNotSorry
Tonight is book club. I didn't read the book--mostly because it didn't really capture my attention, but also because I was still infatuated with and tuckered out after finishing The Weight of Ink last week for my other book club. Happily, I could watch a TED talk by the author, Lee Hyeon-seo, author of The Girl with Seven Names about her escape and later her family's escape from North Korea.
I'll hush up now and finish my daily steps and get ready for book club. Jeez ... gotta rush!

So Cornovirus, over hyped or under hyped? Or just the right amount of hype? All I know is this, I started thinking about trying to touch my face less as a way to protect against germs, (besides hand washing, which I don't do correctly because I don't have time to stand there and wash the length of time it takes to sing twinkle little star or happy birthday). Man is it hard not to rub your eyes, or scratch your nose or just in general keep your hands away from your face.

I don't know. It doesn't seem nice. One thing I read said the death rate is on par with the Spanish flu in 1918. And that's with advancements in medicine. And now they're finding people who get well are re-testing positive again weeks later? Goodness. Can't get a vaccine fast enough I say. I agree, it's very hard not to touch your face!!
NPR had a great interview with a CDC type of person last night. Turns out, most people (80%) who contract the virus exhibit NO SYMPTOMS whatsoever. The next 10 percent present with minor flu symptoms - slight fever and dry cough. It's the last 10 percent that scare the **** out of people and the news and other media are glomming onto. That last group has more severe respiratory symptoms and require treatment. 1% of the 99% the contract the virus require hospitalization for their symptoms.
The death rate of the Spanish flu was greater than 2.5%. Most flus, including the corona virus current outbreak are around 0.1%. Don't know where you got your information of the Corona virus being on par with the Spanish flu, but that is simply untrue to date.
A minimum of 50 million, possibly as many as 100 million people died from the Spanish flu between 1918 and 1919. 675,000 US citizens died from the Spanish flu.
Currently to date there are fewer than 100,000 documented cases of the Corona virus world wide for this flu season.
Normal hygiene is the best preventative.
So, yeah, I'm not buying the hype.
