4 pounds lost and no diet suffering with wine bar visits? You go, girl! If you're happy and you're headed the right way, keep doing it. 4 pounds a month adds up.

I agree with Cecily.

One pound a week is what I'm achieving via WW with real food. My objection to the pre-packaged stuff isn't about nutritional issues (I'm sure the macros of the pre-packaged meals are fine), but with pre-packaged food you're not navigating the actuality of eating in real life, e.g., grocery shopping and cooking for yourself and others, going out to dinner, to bars, to restaurants, surviving eating holidays, etc. And IMHO it's those real-life-eating decisions and skills that address our personal eating hobgoblins and demons much more directly than nuking a box of food someone else made.

Not to mention the "Thank God, that's over!" overeating reaction that often happens after "the long diet" is over.

Of course, there's always the possibility of combining the two approaches in various ways, e.g., do the boxes three days a week and four days a week eat as you're eating now. Or some other variation on that theme, e.g., one week boxed food, one week like you're eating now.

P.S. I just calculated my average calories/day for the past 30 days (which I track and record obsessively on MFP) and found that I've eaten an average of 1,470 cals/day during that time period. And during that time I've lost 4 pounds. That's very close to the 1,500 calories/day you've eaten this last month while losing 4 pounds.

Continuing with my caloric math, all the calories I've eaten in the last month (44,000) + the caloric value of the 4 pounds I've lost during that time (4 X 3,500 = 14,100) means that at my current activity level I could have consumed 58,100 calories (or 1,937 calories/day) and maintained at my current weight.

I think this also means neither of us is a special bariatric snowflake. Which is a good thing. :)

Left the house at 5:00 am. Flew up to Seattle. Arrived at destination at 11:00 ish. Spent the day there doing puppy tails and dewclaws for a litter I co bred (mother of the pups is Dottie and Lucky's litter mate, Justice). It was important for me to support my puppy owner, as this is her first litter. Was back at the airport by 5:15. Got home tonight shortly after 10:30.

I chose to not focus too much on food today. My big food success for the day was buying an apple for my breakfast at the airport and actually eating it. LOL! But there was "travel" food.

My post RD crazies persist, but are easing off - I think.
