188 well that redeemed a questionable week. A good reminder that slip ups happen and it's how we respond that matters. 1.2 down for my official weigh in. Which is 19.8 all together. 3.8 from a normal BMI. 13 from the top of my happy range (23 from the bottom, ugh).

Wooo, painful day in the stock markets thus far today.

Diane, You're right about expressing gratitude. I am not very good at coming up with nice things about myself, but boy can I rattle off negative ones! That area needs work.

Where is Shirl these days?? And David? Both Bonnies? Come back!

I'm off to enjoy a muffin or two...

Good Morning All,

Thanks for the shout out Cec x Sorry I have been MIA. Its been crazy busy even by my standards......

Weight is up 172.9 but caused by stress eating so I will take it on the chin

My big news is I am scheduled for full knee replacement on 17th March. My Orth said I would know when it was time and BOY its NOW! Cant stand the pain anymore - awake 6-7 times a night and chewing pain relief. So now it is a huge rush to get everything in place so I can finally put myself first. Will be very interesting to see what my loved ones do when Im down and they have to fend for themselves. He wants me to have 4 weeks off work and Im not allowed to drive for 6 weeks. I am negotiating with him to look at returning after 3 weeks as I can work when I want - a few hours at a time and its from home. Will see how I am. Its time to put myself first I think.

Kitchen is in and looks great. Still have to get a few cupboards and finishing pieces made. Im going to get the wall tiles today. Picked up the Bamboo flooring last night - All 1.5 tonnes of it ! We decided to refloor the whole house with the exception of the laundry and bathroom. Isnt it funny how you start a project and they explode into another 50 all of a sudden.... I will take a picture and share once its completed. But its been a good investment. This house will end up a rental once we move to the farm so any improvements are increasing its value. Thats my theory anyway :)

Farm is going well. Marcus the bull is happily wandering with the girls- all being well we should have 5 new calves Nov/Dec. The Steer calf who wouldnt stay in the tape fence is now behind a newly built wire and ringlock fence. Weaning is happening as we speak and he is very vocal about it indeed. I spent 5 hours on the ride on mower making everything nice and tidy then hours spraying the weeds over the weekend. Im rushing to get everything up to date as I wont be able to go out in the paddocks etc for quite a while after my knee and wanted to help DH as much as possible

Speaking of DH, he leaves again tommorrow for another trip, back Friday then leaves again Sunday for a week. Should be his last trip for a while which is good as there is much to be done here. I need to finalise the gardening and get the last of the pots planted - that should happen this weekend. We will do the tiling on Saturday - all being well.

Heading over to stepsons tonight. Its my turn to cook, so I have Osso Bucco slow cooking in the oven. Made an Apple n Sour Cream slice for dessert plus a tray of Bacon n Zuchinni slice for them to have during the rest of the week. Hes working 7 days a week to support his young family so I wanted to help out a little as his partner doesnt cook.

Think thats all my news. I had best go and get some work done I guess given its 7.30am already. Where did those 2.5 hours just go!

Love to you all

Take all the time you need after your surgery, this is your chance to heal well, not heal quick. Pushing it just leads to complications. You are worth whatever time you end up needing :)

Gratitude changes so much. When I keep a gratitude journal, I tell myself, no entries about I'm thankful for my family, or job etc. Has to be more specific. This causes me throughout the day to notice small things to be grateful for. Like when my Bella was still alive, how wonderful it was to stroke her silky ears. I'm still grateful for that. By noticing small things, I've come to more fully appreciate all the wonderful details of an ordinary life.

Another idea I like about gratitude, is when we pause in gratitude or appreciation, it can be considered prayer. (Per my reading of the Jesuit Guide to Almost Everything). Add that to the quote, If the only prayer you ever say is Thank You, that would be enough ~ Meister Eckhart. Gratitude can be a deeply spiritual exercise.

Nice talk over the past few days. I too am short in the stride and long in torso. I am 5-8 but my inseam is 30.5. I buy from LLBean. Same knife edge pants for 5 yrs or so. $100 a pop and I do not flinch. I wear them every day. I buy long tail pocket Ts from Duluth trading co. I use to buy one color but DW started buying a mix of colors.

Eating nuts and yogurt for 2 1/2 years was crazy. But I seem to eat in patterns. I am stuck on eating peanut butter and banana sandwiches now days. Twice today. Not a good pattern to be in.

Took Adalyn to the doctor last week. Not the flu. Big sinus infection. Her eyes were matted when she woke up so it kinda freaked her out. She was improving. She woke up feeling wild this morning. We went about 2 months since last antibiotics. Only change has been she gets a daily probiotic. They are expensive but well worth it. She is calling me daddy and naw naw. I think because DD calls me dad

I am waiting on parts for my truck to be repaired. Just hit a bump and the front end shakes. Almost lose control. And I thought this was going to be a cheap vehicle to own. Last month we had the shocks replaced. The first month we had something big that was still covered by warranty. And wheels balanced. Service manager just came out. $1250. Yikes. He called it the death wobble. Parts are ordered. Repair is scheduled Wednesday of this week. Oh well, it should be good to go for years.

I have had a chest cold for a month. When I get up I get all medicationed up and coffeed up and I am good for the day. Wake myself up coughing at about 4 am. Then get up and do again. Of course I shared with DW. Hers is cough and sore throat.

Somehow I'm just now seeing this post, David. Good to hear from you, although I'm really sorry about the chest cold and the "cheap vehicle." Ugh.

Still, you sound good. Living the life you want. Loving the ones you love most. About the best it gets, eh?

Yes even with pain I have a hot tub to crawl into. I never knew I could love a kid like Adalyn. I was jealous of the parent that couldn't wait to get home to be with their kids. Now I have that can not wait to see you feeling. I married my childhood sweetheart. We still love each other after 45 yrs. I love to work, create, build and saw logs to see the presents they give . Although I can not work 16-18 hours a day like I use to I still can do it most days for a little while. And in a shop that is better than I have had during my whole work career. I get to use a sawmill that I did not have to buy and cut up logs that I do not have to pay for. And even though I am spending a chunk on this truck today, I could sell it for more than I gave for it. I have it better than most in the world. Lots to be thankful for.
David.
