I enjoyed reading about the various cozy mornings. I woke up before my alarm this morning, and considered getting up and making tea and bringing it back to sip under the warm covers, it's one of my favorite simple pleasures, but then DH distracted me :) what's important here is that I made it to work on time.

I am feeling like I can breathe again, as a rather tumultuous work week is behind me, and the weekend is not booked up. Time for much needed errands like groceries, and laundry, and maybe some quiet time reading. Getting things in order.

Cecily, your knitting project is gorgeous. I used to knit when I was a kid in 4H and would enter my little projects in the county fair. I recently took up knitting again, some 40 years later. It is not pretty. That humbling moment when you realize you no longer have the same skill you possessed when you were 10years old. Despite the valient efforts of my mom and grandma, I am a barely mediocre seamstress, knitter, and needleworker. And believe me, this is not false modesty. I have the lumpy knit washcloth with the uneven edges to prove it. :)

Happy Friday everyone!

This friend is the one who first taught me to knit when I was 9! And then I didn't do it again until I took a class about 10 years ago through my city. My knitting teacher happens to be friends with this other friend and they both adopted me into their church knitting group when my mom died. For a church group, they are surprisingly irreverent and hilarious. I love them all. It takes me about 5 years to finish a project as I easily get sidetracked, so I usually have to watch YouTube videos to remind myself how to stop and start projects - too much time passes to remember. I think I've only finished a few things in 10 years. Here's a big blanket I did. Took me years...

I bet if you did enough washcloths, you'd be a master knitter in no time! I too like square projects. Hats and socks are beyond me at the moment.

Cecily, whether you know it or not, you've a very good knitter. My mom was a knitter, and that kind of stuff (above) was HARD.

BTW, she knitted me some gloves and hats and a monstrous cardigan once of the most head-shakingly awful color combinations. It's like her visual senses were from a different galaxy. Back in the eighties in L.A. I wore her sweater ironically. It was the only way I could wear it. It was an attention-getter, for sure!

LOL! It's like we all live in the same neighbourhood lately. I just sewed on a button that fell off a jacket this morning and am having Etsy delusions.

I cannot knit. Never have tried it. But I can crochet, by which I mean I USED to know how to crochet over 50 years ago. That's in my future.

Greetings Crew

Its calm but cloudy here and my rose bushes are showing growth! Need to quick prune them back.

I went to what passes for the big city here to do taxes for the gallery and then do a mission to Target. What a strange list I had, house slippers, cheese, wine. dog treats etc. Being a checker at a variety store must be interesting - seeing what odd combinations of stuff people buy. I used to always look at other people's grocery carts when I was a fat person as I imagined they were looking at fat me and wondering why I was buying cookies. Actually I am sure they were not paying any attention at all,

DH is out walking the second dog. I am glad he is out and about. He is obsessed with national politics and lately is so angry and crabby about it. He needs a hobby.

Did the pool yesterday and pretty much had it to myself. Made a new friend. I have been hoping to befriend some of the other old pool hags like myself. I am pleased to report that I do not have the ugliest bathing suit.

You WW people impress me so much. Some day I will get back to being concerned but right now I am sort of enjoying a break from weight fixation. But I have a routing doctor appointment in two weeks which means the dreaded scale. My doctor is a skinny guy and he is not shy about pointing out weight to me. Rats.

Beautiful knitting Cecily! Sounds like a fun group. Who cares if you finish anything.

And sorry your friends are stuck on a cruise ship with no port. DH thinks soon there may be shortages of some goods that come from China. I have all the iPhones I currently need, but where does toilet paper come from?

Cheers all. Diane S

Toilet paper shortages ... now THERE's a first-world problem of the first magnitude!

Good for you continuing with the pool. I'm glad you made a friend - that makes it so much easier.
