These sound great! I'll make them this weekend, if not before ... although finding "Kodiak protein pancake and waffle mix" may be a challenge in my local Walmart.

Thanks again. They sound luscious!

P.S. I just ordered the Buttermilk version of the pancake mix from Amazon. So much easier than wandering around Walmart. :) Thanks again, Ceci. :)

Everyone's recitation of their current temps is causing me some envy. It's 20 degrees here, but as we like to say, it's a dry cold. The real struggle is that although we haven't had bitter, bitter cold this month, we also haven't seen the sun in weeks. I think they just said on the news that we've had 3 sunny days All month. Those of you who escaped these northern climes probably remember that in January, clouds = thermal blanket= holding heat (such as it is)and bright sunshine = bitter cold. The forecast for our quick Florida visit is low 70s, partly cloudy. Hope that means mostly sunny.

Getting ready to start Romeo and Juliet in 9th grade English. We asked students to write us a note telling us what kind of part they wanted, big, medium, small, and went through the characters, describing them, so they could also request a particular role if they wanted. Some of the notes just break my heart. Please, please give me a small part, I don't read well and sometimes I stutter... So heartfelt and you can just hear their pain. Our aim in asking for the notes is to avoid putting them through this terror. There are always enough students who want big parts, we can accommodate our reluctance readers by giving them one or two line parts.

Tonight we are meeting some friends for dinner at a local restaurant. I looked through the menu online, and holy Hannah, the calories! I'm hoping tonight's soup is something I like.

DD, I would have loved having you as my 9th grade English teacher!

I love that you are so careful with your students!

as an aside, I was a speech pathology and audiology major in college and one interesting fact is stutterers very often don't stutter when they are acting or singing. James Earl Jones is a famous example of this.

Greetings All

Gallery duty today and enough people came in to make it interesting. Sun even came out for a bit.

Yep Peps, we all want to be Ann when we grow up. Ann your life sounds so grand even though we know you have had your share of tough times. Guess its all about perspective.

Ready about cleaning up made me realize that my house is going to be a fright unless I just get on it myself. DH just can't see the clutter. I found a local clean out junk service so maybe I will try them. Debris is so annoying.

Cecily, so bizarre that people are reacting so extremely to the one person in the hospital. I guess a zillion starbucks in China have shut down due to the illness.

DD sorry you are stuck in the cold. But good on you for letting kids choose their parts in R and J. Worth doing. I remember high school english and having to read stuff like Paradise Lost and The Faeirie Queen. There is so much wonderful literature in the world that is more worth reading.

Best to all.

Gotta go make some dinner. Diane S

My friend's husband runs a big company that makes their racing car parts in Shanghai. The country has ordered that all manufacturing companies (not sure how big an area) be shut down for 10 days. When I think about what a manufacturing powerhouse China is, it's really going to have an impact.

But yeah, the crazies would be roaming the streets with pitchforks and torches if this wasn't suburbia and people actually owned pitchforks and torches.
