VSG Maintenance Group

Weight 132.6, WW blue points 37. Since wine was involved with those points it is probably a fake, dehydrated weight but at least it is the first time under 133 for many, many months. Dinner out with an old friend was nice last night - I have been a little overwhelmed by too much family.
This morning DS, SIL, BIL and I are going to a Remembrance brunch at DH's former facility. Then I have my last support group meeting before leaving for Florida in 9 days. I also have a phone meeting with my financial advisor this afternoon. That will provide the information I need to deal with DH's IRA.
Next week will be mostly writing thank yous and getting ready for Florida. I am really looking forward to leaving the cold though yesterday was warm enough to take Justice on the beach and he was in his glory flying around.
Have a productive Friday!

Yesterday I was busting into song about y'all, my meditation candle, and the beauty of flawed humanity. And today, my sole intention is (seriously): Don't be an asshole!
Last night after I got home, my floor/carpets/house cleaner called and said she'd gotten her van stuck in the snow/mud on the way home and that she probably wouldn't be able to get back today to finish the job. Meaning, who the **** knew when that would be? And meaning, how the **** was I supposed to put my blown-apart house back together to function over the weekend, even if she could manage to get back here on the next possible business day--next Monday?
This morning when I woke up, my knees hurt, my lower back was tight, and my shoulders were even tighter. Stress much? Anger? Frustration? I'll spare you all the details, but eventually I realized this was possibly not the worst problem I've ever had in my life. I also saw that I was reverting to Pre-Retirement Consultant Work Mode, when every day was full of technology that failed, clients who didn't meet their deadlines, which made it very difficult for me to meet MY deadlines and their targets, and feeling solely responsible to make things go right when they were blowing apart. Most of all, I was just raring to show "everybody else" what a lousy job they were doing, and how I was saving the day and rehearsing those made-up conversations where I terrify and shame others into doing what I need them to do because, God damn it, we have to meet that target! (Yes, that was my daily work mode. Can anyone relate?)
And then I realized ... maybe I could deal with this situation without being an asshole.
Bottom line was I fixed the problem. Without being an asshole. It took about an hour (I'm really going to spare you all those details). And my knees and back and shoulders immediately felt fine. And then I meditated and did some yoga. And then the cleaners arrived (having followed my directions about how to get to the house), and they felt fine. And I felt even better. And then I left them alone so they can do THEIR job, and I came to town to the college library where I can do MY job (writing).
And nobody died. :)
And I weighed something on the scales this morning and ate something yesterday.

David, that is soooo gorgeous!
Out of curiosity, how is one supposed to clean such a pretty wooden cutting board? (I have one I'm afraid to use for anything but bread, for fear I'll mess it all up.)
