Greetings Dear Ones

Not feeling too inspired today. Lets chalk it up to a string of rainy days. Plus a general state of malaise due to political events and genuine anxiety about climate change. There have been "king tides" here due to time of year and such and some beaches can't be visited and waves wash into the parking lots. Some people were washed in by a sneaker wave but got out safely. It was on video and they appeared to be in a safe spot. But I am grateful for a warm safe home.

Liz glad you are getting through these rituals and that the service was good for you. Hope you can get some down time. And that tuna casseroles are not appearing. A friend's husband died some years ago and the food on the doorstep began. The best thing was someone brought by an assortment of coffee and tea. Just the thing. Its become my standard funeral food gift. Hope you get some. And hope you get some alone time.

Ann so love your travel plans. Good on you for getting it done. I so hate airports and such that I can't think of going anywhere. So I will live vicariously through you.

Slow start today. I seem to sleep in when its rainy. Not a crime. Off to the studio and the pool today. Who has a recommendation for soap to take to the gym? They have body wash which is too wimpy and watered down for me.

Shirley I can't imagine your harrowing drive with the trailer etc through storms. You are such a super woman! And then you come home and bake. My hero. Stay safe and cool.

Peps you are no doubt having the January Blues, made worse by cooped up kids. Jeepers, why are some of us condemned to spending our adult lives feeling inadequate because we weigh more than we would like. Ridiculous yet its a real thing. My club too.

I must confess I like going to my bank because they keep a jar of GOOD candy there and I always take some. Like I deserve it because I have money there. More disordered thinking.

I made a stir fry last night that was pretty good. More tonight.

We started watching the mini series "The New Pope", an off shoot of the previous series The Young Pope. Pretty interesting but hopefully total fantasy.

Time to get busy. Cheers.

Diane S

First of all, you DO deserve the good bank candy because you f**king paid for it!

(I'm really into the F word today!)

And second, thank you for the huzzah re my 2020 travel plans. Somebody's got to do the hard work, and I'm just the one to handle it. ;)

Finally, coffee and tea baskets for the bereaved ... what a BRILLIANT IDEA! For the rest of my life as long as I can hobble to some grieving person's front door, I am going to provide this gift to poor folks who are stunned and shocked by the sudden, inexplicable evaporation of those they loved the most.

Oops, forgot my funny du jour.

Those of you who have lost spouses, I hope I do not seem too insensitive by poking fun at my DH. I just can't help it.

So yesterday we were running around picking up junk in the house before the housekeeper came. Clothes on floor, dishes all over counter etc etc. There were about 4 small pieces of broken dried leaves on the floor in the front hall. A total of about one square inch - I kid you not. The housekeeper does the floors and would have swept this up. But DH, in his infinite practical wisdom, gets his LEAF BLOWER and brings it in the house to blow these microscopic leaf fragments out the front door!!!!!! Seriously?

Anyway I thought it was funny. DS

Yeah, I've got one of those, too, but I would NEVER do something as absurd as use the ******g leaf blower in the house! LOL! Please be specific and in the future indicate such men have a heterosexual penis!

My bad. That really was a sexist comment ... not nice to all people with penises.

I have used the leaf blower to blow debris inside the doorway back outside. In the house and shop. I have always been proud of the 2 brain system.
