VSG Maintenance Group
Monday, 01/13/2020,
I've heard those beta blockers can be very fatiguing. I hope your energy level adjusts soon.
Fun fact, when I was a college student, I worked at the University of Minnesota's Labratory of Physiological Hygiene. The lab that brought you The Starvation Study, and Ancel Keys theories about cholesterol and saturated fat. In 1981, I coded electrocardiograms for a study on a new medication, beta blockers. It was tedious work, as a millimeter difference in the height of a beat might mean a code, but it was gratifying when years later, the study produced data on a viable treatment.
Ermagerd!
And it's almost camellia season there!
I think we're all going to come see you, Ceci. :) Aren't you glad you invited us?

Bonjour Tous le monde
No weight today. Your founding mother is kind of off the rails on the weight scene. But I am at least getting to the pool. I am feeling very at home there - no bathing beauties - just middle aged fat people and little kids.
Liz we love those pictures. Running them on a loop to see is nice. The funeral home did that for my mom - we gave them a bunch of pictures and they ran them on a big screen with music of our choice. It was good. You will be glad you did this.
Yep, the binge barge. Cruises are indeed a lot about eating.
Maybe I will start a new business called MW - "Mood Watchers". Instead of weight we will monitor mood and attitude. Work on getting rid of negative emotions like crankyness and fear and replacing them with gratitude and joy. Waddaya think?
Ocean Diane I hope you can do major self care before the next hip surgery. Who knew so many replacement parts would be needed.
Kiln day today. Getting back into a routine after holiday stuff. The usual banking and gallery duties. Cecily I am like you - I like it when my calendar comes up and says "you have no events scheduled today". Still feels like skipping school. Anybody ever do that? I only did it maybe twice.
More meatloaf tonight and then watch the Tigers vs the Tigers. Cheers.

I love it! And great job on getting yourself to the pool so often! I seem to be able to exercise or eat right, rarely and...
Geaux, Tigres! Allez!

I have to say I have loved my 50s. I suppose getting sleeved and losing 140 pounds had something to do with that! But good heavens, my soul may feel young and free, but my physical body is here to remind it, baby you are not 21!
So I went to the orthodontist today as directed by my regular dentist. I need a root canal on a previously crowned tooth. AND, I need a previous root canaled and crowned tooth to be further restored. I didn't know they could even do that. I mean, what is left to do to a tooth with an existing root canal?Whatever it is, I'll be finding out soon. And handing over my debit card again. Tomorrow, I finally get my implanted tooth "seated". Thursday I start PT for my hip. I guess it's all self care.... necessary, but not the fun kind.
Entering finals week. Arguing with a few teachers about allowing students to use their testing accommodations. Patiently explaining federal laws. Reminding them they were invited to the IEP meeting to provide their input. Also reminding them I sent them the accommodations at the beginning of the year, and when we had an IEP meeting. I will win these arguments, but I'd prefer not to engage in them at all. This too shall pass.
Yesterday was very carby with scones and movie popcorn, but volume was okay. My appetite is still suppressed, which is a blessing. I'll take it :)
