I talked DC into going with me for a manicure and pedicure. Just like I believe massages are a valuable component of balanced health, do are mani/pedi ! Keeping nail beds and cuticles supple and smooth is important !

Yes, the fact that WW encourages us to get the most nutrition for our calories is a good thing for me. I am much more encouraged to try new zero point foods to augment/enhance a simple protein meal. Swiss Miss reduced calorie hot chocolate is one point on Blue, and I mix it into my last cup of coffee in the AM, as a treat.

DD, loved your glove story ! Our deep pocket fitted sheets invariably spirit away ONE sneaker sock a load. Liz, it?s great that BIL is stepping up and I hear you on wanting some alone time. Be good to yourself. Ann, so jealous you are already able to mow ! That tire will be fixed in no time and zipping around in the Gator is an honorable alternative. David, LOVE your latest wood pieces and the updated Adalyn photos and stories. Ceci.. good on you for your WW progress and for wrestling that tree down. PEPs.. your WW musings are great as are your photos of the pups ! I had to smile? I remember the days it would take me up to six weeks to get my kidos back to their pre-holiday independence and self-regulation?then Presidents? week off?AGH ! Diane?how are you doing getting DH to the pool ? Shirl, glad you are getting caught up. Paula, your wedding looked fabulous !! Please continue to stay safe ! Bonnies, we miss your voices !

PS...I've seen this on FB, but our attorney underscored not to write xx/xx/20 when dating any important document. Two additional digits could easily be added to change the year. Always write 2020 !

Weight 135.2. Holding steady which is all I want at this point. Wine is eating up a bunch of points as my food is mostly okay. After next week hopefully there will be less socializing with wine (I don't really drink it alone).

BIL came yesterday for a couple of hours and helped me get pictures and a few other things from DH's room. We will move the furniture out week after next. I started to make some calls about IRA's etc. because I am getting out of Dodge (as I put it) in early February. I booked my time in Florida from 2/2-5/14. I also booked my annual Aruba trip when I found out the fares were low from 6/6-6/19.

The main urn arrived yesterday (see below). This is the one which will be buried in the cemetery with our DD. I also have a small urn coming today to use for scattering a few ashes off a sailboat this summer.

Today I am going to yoga and taking Justice for a checkup. Routine is good...

Liz, the urn is absolutely gorgeous! And all your self-care and your plans to get out of Dodge sound spot-on to me.

Carry on, my friend.

I'm back from yesterday's trip to the Big City. It was a good day.

In yesterday's therapy session I had a lot to download, but the takeaway was my therapist's observation that I seem to have bounced back into regular life much faster after my trip to South American/Antarctic than after any of my other trips last year (NOLA, France, longer US trips)--in terms of self-care and moving forward. I hadn't twigged on that before, but he is absolutely right.

I think that's due to (1) the urgency I feel about my 2020 goals and the actions I've already taken to make those come about, (2) the ongoing/maturational changes in my bereavement two years after my husband died (the second anniversary of his death is three days from now), and (3) the hugely positive impact of my trip to Antarctica, which I'm still mentally unpacking.

Related to this is the principle/theme that emerged in the last half of 2019 for me: quality, not quantity. That theme continues into 2020 and addresses everything from what I eat and drink to how I spend my time, money and energy to the people and causes I associate with. It also means saying, "No, thank you" to options that aren't necessarily bad, but aren't what I want to focus on. For me, "all those other things" usually get in the way of "what I care most about."

Today's musical theme, a fave new-oldie, will deal with Hump Day: Uptown Funk!

The mention of your husband's death being two years ago is difficult for me to grasp. I am surprised by how much time has passed since Del passed. I can only imagine how hard it is to approach this upcoming anniversary. It took me many years to develop an ease with the anniversary of my mother's death. I can only imagine what it must be like when it is a spouse or child one loses.

Hugs and love.

Weight 200.2

Good morning all!

I started reading an interesting paper published last month in the New England Journal of Medicine on Intermittent Fasting that consolidates findings from 80 studies on both animals and humans. Aside from weight, it's pretty fascinating what they think even short fasts can do for us.

Today brings laundry and tidying...
