155.8.

Down almost 2# thanks in part to some serious tramping around with the dog. Agree 100%, Liz, that no matter what the scale may say, taking an inventory and concluding that the day before was "clean eating" takes the power away from the pospieceofmetal.

Today I'm revisiting the truth in the phrase- Progress Realized In Daily Effort.

I have been bouncing up and down between 149 and 158 since August! This is not my weight range! What I am not doing (for months now) is stringing days together. I've adopted an attitude of...part time healthy eating and part time eating whatever. I'll lose a few pounds, become complacent, loose focus, and find myself- take days off..."reward" myself, whatever you want to call it, but slowly creeping up.

Eating well is who I am, not some occupation I dabble in-or-not; as if I do not have to claim poor behavior as part of my being -as being outside of myself out of my ability to choose otherwise.

Do I really want to wake up every day calling myself as one thing while behaving in a way contrary to who I want to be? I think not. My healthy weight range is inside of 140 low to 145 high. Daily effort. Emphasis on daily --One day after another.

Someone once told me extra weight is an outward manifestation of an inner conflict. Sums me up!

Good Morning All x

Racing in after a late night preparing our farm. Emergency texts went out last night advising people to leave overnight. DH & I have decided to stay. We filled all vehicles, tractor, fire trailer & extra fuel tins last night. Fire trailer is full & ready.

Woken to a very thick blanket of smoke- visability is terrible. Its eerie. Next 2 days are total fire bans & very high temps. Closest fires are in then next valley but a reasonable distance away. Our farm is mostly grass and with the nearest heavy tred area 0.6 miles away if we had a fire- it would likely be a grass fire. Intense as they are fast moving but you dont get the radiant heat like a forrest fire

My heart is breaking watching the devastation as so people have lost everything. So much of Victoria & New South Wales is burning - with 2 of the fires between States linking up.

You are all in my thoughts & Happy New Year. Especially you Liz- my love & strength

I will be back when I can x

Here is our view today- scary stuff

Shirl, the newspapers and TV news services here are all covering the fires in some detail.

Thank you so much for checking in with us and showing us what it looks like there on the ground--YOUR ground.

We're all hoping your property and, more importantly, YOU escape the worst of this awful situation.

I won't say "Be careful!" because y'all are grown-ups and already are being careful.

Love and courage!

Ann

Do do take care- vigilance is the word. These out of control fires are just too much. Praying for cooler, wetter weather and some relief.

That's so scary, Shirley. It's hard to fathom that it's STILL burning from when I was there over 6 weeks ago and we were so inundated by smoke. Heartbreaking for the people, their homes and certainly all the animals decimated by this.

Be careful Shirley. We are all concerned about these fires. Make sure you have multiple exit plans. Sorry your beautiful farm is "smoked in". diane S

My Aussie sister is going home for a visit next week to New South Wales. (Newcastle area). Pray that you and she stay safe, and the homes you love endure.
