Well here we are, Happy New Year!!! It's 2:35am here in the Bold North, and I just arrived home from a super fun party. We've been partying with this group every year since 1999. I have to bring my daughter to the airport at 4am, so I've decided I'll just stay up at this point. It's rare I can start the post. I hope everyone had a nice evening, here's to 2020!

DD, thank you for ringing 2020 in for us. And for the record, your party powers are impressive!

Last night per usual I stayed home. I could have gone to the local craft beer pub for NYE celebrations, but yoga class yesterday pretty much kicked my butt--hence, the 2-hour afternoon nap.

Today, I'll spoil myself with home spa activities, good food, a little yoga stretching, my next book club selection, and, if it's not too windy, a walk around the property. I'd love to go to the movies, but there's absolutely nothing showing here that I want to see. I'm waiting for Mr. Rogers to show up here (or maybe it already came and went while I was gone, in which case PHOOEY!).

Oh, and today I'll also work on my 2020 intentions, goals and plans.

Although DD is younger than me, I'm still not sure I could stay up that late!

Weight 135.2. I suspect I didn't really lose .8 since yesterday, but I changed to my more accurate scale after bringing it home last night. I have reversed back to the weight I was in late May/early June. Five more pounds will allow me to fit in quite a few more of my clothes.

I was relieved at DH's facility around 9 last night by DS who stayed the night and was replaced by BIL this morning. SIL brought shrimp, quiche and wine and had dinner with me there (I have a folding table there now). Then I was in bed by 10.

Today I relieve BIL at noon, so I can actually relax with my coffee, take a somewhat leisurely shower, and walk the dog before I go. DH was unarousable for more than 24 hours, but DS said he was fidgety in the early morning. I felt like DH's meds were getting stretched out a little too far. It seemed like he was receiving them much more frequently in the hospital: about every 3-4 hours, but it went about 6 hours between medications yesterday. I have a feeling the hospital was giving the different meds at different times and DH's place is doing them both at the same time. I'll see how he does this afternoon and if necessary talk to the hospice nurse about whether there needs to be a revision. If DH mostly stays like he was yesterday, he probably will pass within a few weeks. Difficult to predict though. I need to do things like talk to the funeral home and DH's priest at our former hometown where we will do the funeral. Strange to be doing this already.

Welcome to 2020!

Happy 2020 !

Down three pounds ! I had to work to remember to eat and drink yesterday. Diamond D, we try to avoid filing an insurance claim at all costs ! The house, my car, the RV and DC's truck are bundled together... the less scrutiny, the better. The good news is the smoke associated with a backed up pellet stove pipe is much different than smoke from a house fire that burns vastly different materials. Due to the smoke and particles, we were not able to reinstall the smoke detectors and reconnect with the alarm company until early evening. The chimney sweep did a fabulous job at a reasonable price. His detailed report will be submitted to the Code Enforcer tomorrow, along with the original building permit and corresponding Certificate of Compliance issued after installation by the same man coming to inspect the remediation. ( Yes, my filing system is color coded, Ann !)

Ceci, yes I have found that the points associated with raw materials are often drastically different when cooking or baking with them. This is one reason why I like searching online for WW recipes, which attach points (I believe using a more generous algorithm than mere mortals can obtain). I find putting recipes into the WW App to be tedious and inaccurate, so I look for the WW recipe closest to what I am doing, and quick add those points. I have often found better recipes and/or interesting tweeks doing it that way.

I am doing WW totally online, as there are minimal studios (formerly workshops/meetings) even remotely close to me. If anyone is finding the current excitement about WW to be overtaking this group in a counterproductive way, we could create a FB private group just for sharing/supporting this specific approach. I'm thinking our initial curiosity and enthusiasm will subside some as we master the basics and modify based on experience. WW has shifted my focus back to cleaner eating, for sure.

Positive thoughts to all of our tribe and their loved ones and especially Reed and Shel's family.

Good point - we don't want to overdose everyone with WW.
