I was really frustrated with the WW plan on my first day yesterday and it was because I was on the wrong plan for how I eat. So I switched from blue to green and all is well. Instead of being 3 points over for the day, I was 5 under. which makes it all seem a bit arbitrary, but there you go! I also was thinking I would add in some intermittent fasting to cut down the hours I eat. A 16:8 fast is not far off what I do anyway. I usually eat dinner early at 5, then would prefer not to eat more that day and I sleep late. But it might cut out the later evening snacking I've been getting into lately. This morning I've had to wait an hour for my coffee with creamer, but an hour off my normal schedule doesn't seem bad and I avoided mindless snacking last night. Who knows. It could be throwing too many things in the mix at once. And tonight is out the window as I'm going to my dad's for dinner and they eat late. Life would be easier to live in a controlled vacuum, but not as much fun!
So lobster dinner tonight for new years, up early to watch the Rose Parade on TV, then home to dismantle the Christmas tree and decorations.
Yesterday was the 9th anniversary of my mom's passing. The time has flown by so very fast. I don't like to think about the end, but thinking of her makes me smile.
Interesting. I am basically eating the way I already knew I should and Blue seems to work for me so far. When I go above points, I know exactly why (I've had too much of something I probably shouldn't have had in the first place).

I was eating good things, but to log the meal prep dinner I had, what should have been low points came out as 11.
The ingredients were "lean ground all-natural turkey, red kidney beans, black beans, green beans, red bell pepper, onions, garlic, tomato paste, chicken stock, jalapenos, cilantro, green onions, chili powder, cumin, coriander, oregano, olive oil" for 424 calories. The only thing in there that should have had points on blue was the olive oil, but by entering the nutrition facts in the app, it came up as 11. Maybe I'm using the app wrong, but I was trying to be accurate. With green the only free stuff is fruits and veggies, but it's still eating all the same good things, they just are counted differently and it's the counting on green that fits my eating better than the counting on blue.
Long story short, all three all the same way of eating, just three ways of counting it all up. So pick the way of counting that doesn't make you feel like you're failing when you're not!
I too have seen some things higher in points than I expect (but it seems to be outweighed by the zero point thing). I figure if it works I'll be happy regardless. It is paying for it, going to a meeting weekly, and logging that are helping me to get control right now (in a not controllable time).

Today I have a dentist appointment to get fitted for my implant. My dentist is semi retired and only works 2 days a week, so I had to take this slot, or wait yet another month.
Tonight we go to a New Year's Eve Party hosted by family friends. The party started in 1999, and has been our NYE tradition ever since. Our daughter was in 1st grade in 1999. Tonight she attends as a 27 year old grown up. And I'll be a guest bringing a meat and cheese platter! DH, in a show of true bravery, is headed to Costco to buy it.
I do like New Year's resolutions, in a manner. Sometime next week DH and I will sit down and talk about our goals in the coming year for health, finances, travel, home and work. We make sort of a roadmap for the year. I might suggest WW online, it seems to be inspiring everyone. DH has suggested I get a personal trainer, we'll probably discuss that etc.
Hope everyone has a safe evening, and rings in the New Year with hope and anticipation for 2020.
