I'm eating clean, and the scale is moving down as it always done when I eat clean.

DD, the photos you posted of your mom and dad's 60th wedding anniversary party are just beautiful. You did good, girl!

Diane O, great news that DH is getting up and about. You can now turn your gaze back on yourself. Thanks again for bringing up the new WW program. I'm pretty sure I'm going to join this coming Thursday when our local meeting happens.

Shirl, I finally looked up "chooks" and learned it's Aussie for chickens. Now I know what you're talking about. :)

Dave, I'm very glad to hear you're breathing easier. Pneumonia sucks!

Shel ... I miss you.

Liz, I'm hoping Paul gets to move back to his nursing home in the next few days. I admire how you're managing everything. Again, kudos on your WW stat.

Bonnie150, I'm looking forward to hearing what Devon says about Welshies. I just read a little bit about them, and you're right--they are not a recliner person's dog!

Peps, I'm struck by how much the new WW literature sounds like things you've said this past year, especially about being focusing on what we are doing well and NOT beating ourselves up.

BB, I feel just like you about the WW plans and how they will probably work for me.

Diane S, I'm so sorry to hear that your brother's having even more health challenges right now. He deserves a big break!

Birthday Girl Cecily (in my world birthdays can last a whole week!), you sound ready to tackle some new stuff in 2020.

Which brings up the subject of New Year's Resolutions. Are y'all into them? If so, what areas (besides weight, fitness, health, which we're already into) are you interested in for 2020? What do you want to do in those areas? (BTW, my challenge is NOT to come up with a long laundry list, but to prioritize a very few things and stay focused on those.)

I don't do New Years resolutions as I have always felt that I was setting myself up for failure by pledging something for the year. Instead, I feel like I should make resolutions as needed. Invariably my most successful weight change resolutions have been made in the late fall before the holidays because I knew that if I didn't do something beforehand I would have even more weight to lose afterwards.

Interesting contact with my first cousin once removed (at least I think that is what she is - she is the daughter of my first cousin). She had contacted me via Ancestry.com. She had plenty of information on her mother's side but very little on her father's. My father and her grandfather were brothers. I was able to fill her in on what I knew which isn't a ton, but more than what she had. And I connected my nephew with her as he is intrigued with the family tree as well. Nice diversion from the current situation.

I was able to leave the hospital late morning yesterday as DD, then BIL came to stay with DH. So I did some self-care: had my hair cut/highlighted (it REALLY needed it) and took the dog for a decent walk (he has only had short ones for the last 10 days). Since Florida based DD is leaving this morning, she, DS and I went to a restaurant called Epic Oyster. It is an old diner that is super cute and has been turned into an upscale dining place. Needless to say we had great oysters, then split a cod dish and a fantastic salad with Feta. If I hadn't had wine, my WW points would have been okay, but there was wine.

I am back at the hospital for the day. I haven't seen any staff yet so don't know how the night went but DH seems relatively calm. Though they did add a "fall risk" armband so that makes me wonder if he tried to launch last night or they just decided he needed one. I sure hope he can transfer out of here tomorrow as planned.

Six days to Paula's wedding!

Have a sunny Sunday!

Greetings All

OH site is being slow and flakey today. Hope it doesn't eat this. Not that I have much of significance today. Its pouring rain. I think I will get DH organized to go to the pool. I signed him up for the club yesterday.

New years resolutions - I quit that idea long ago. Why wait until the new year to change some habit. Though I do need to get back to healthy eating. My dislike of cooking has resulted in some bad habits like deli made pot pies and pizza.

Happy Birthday week Cecily. Many more.

Liz glad your DH is calmed down some and hope he can get back to his place and resume some routine that works for you. And that you get a bit more self care in. Wouldn't it be nice if a hospital had a massage room for people who have to wait around there for hours. Or a ****tail lounge....

Ok everyone, tell who would play you if a movie were made about this group. I already made some suggestions.

I swear my clothing dresser is like a clown car. I keep pulling more and more stuff out of it to get rid of but more and more stuff shows up! The drawers are bottomless pits!

I will be interested to see what you folks think of the WW plans. Liz good on you for dropping weight over holidays though I don't envy what you went through. It shows its possible not to gain weight in a crisis.

DD lovely anniversary pictures posted. What a great tribute to your parents.

Peps we need puppy pictures.

Cheers all . Diane S

Hmm, who would play me. Can this be wishful thinking? I would love to be Jennifer Garner in another life...

Before my nervous break I was quite the jokester and quick witted. So I would have said Drew Carry but these days I would say Al Borland / Richard Karn on Tim Allen s home improvement show.

Welshies are tough terriers! They are not small Airedales, that's for sure. If they were as tall as Airedales they would outweigh Airedales by 20+ pounds. They also have very different temperaments. The well bred Welshies are great family dogs, but still can have dog aggression issues. They are also very BUSY dogs. They have a hard wired energy that many dogs do not have. You will not get too far with corrective training with a Welsh. Reward training, firm boundaries and hard fast rules are the way to go with this breed. Punitive attention often backfires with this breed. Unless you are willing to go to the floor with a welsh terrier, I do not recommend you get into a battle of wills. I can win with a Welsh and have done it many times. However, the last time I did it, the owner ended up in tears because her dog had her so conditioned to his every whim that when he didn't get his way he screamed as if he was being stuck in the eye with a leather needle. So, when I wouldn't allow him to bite me, he screamed and screamed and screamed. I know Welsh owners who are afraid to handle their dogs. That said, I know fantastic breeders in the US and Canada who breed phenomenally temperamented WTs. I could go on about the breed, but you get the picture. It's not always an easy breed, but it is a terribly rewarding breed to own once you get past the tenacity of the WT temperament. Hope that makes sense. BTW - Im guessing that your WT may have some Airedale way, way back. He looks much larger next to your husband than I would expect a WT to look next to a grown man. But maybe it's the angle of the photo????

Weight is stable. I'm tired today, so not much energy for a decent post. Soon....

Damn, Peps ... it's so nice to know a true expert in this realm. When I partner up with another dog, I will definitely seek your counsel.
