  1. Within Range: 8 over
  2. General Wellbeing: 7.5
  3. 10,000+ Steps: 3471
  4. Fitness: wrangled S & A to groomer
  5. Self-Care: solidifying 2020 initial approach to health
  6. Fun: Continued to investigate WW and dabble with logging

I find the potential for many of us to be weaving WW into our repertoires to be invigorating. I need to infuse some new energy into my life. DC started PT 2X/week yesterday, and did really well. He is allowed to drive his Ram truck, as he is off the heavy duty pain killers. Especially with his short term memory issues, he should have been provided with PT from the start. He is being weaned off his walker, onto walking poles or a cane. PT is encouraging him to build up his stamina walking, and he has exercises to do 3X a day. The PT had him put an AP on his phone, which allows her to add exercises with corresponding videos, as well as track his progress. We have the go ahead for him to resume upper body strength training at the Y, but he needs surgeon's clearance 01/16 to return to the water (need fully healed incision for significant time submerged). I have been 95% caretaker and 5% self care, so hopefully things will start to shift back to a more healthy balance.

Liz, I'm looking forward to hearing that Paul has successfully transitioned to Hospice back at his facility. It is fortunate that you involved BIL in as much of his brother's care as you could, to facilitate a more realistic view of Paul's current quality of life. We all know what Shel's recommendation would be, as she led by example. Leap, hope you are feeling better ! Don't mess with pneumonia ! DD, we're eager to hear how the big event went off ! (Speaking of big events, Paula...we can't wait to hear about the wedding !) Ceci, Bonnie X2, Shirl, Diane ...love reading your posts. Have to dash.

I sure miss Shel's advice. I do hope her family is doing okay this holiday.

No weight yet, as I am going to a WW meeting shortly to weigh (and DD is in the scale room). So a little self-care today. Diane, try to get that 95% down and 5% up -- we have to all remind each other how important that self-care is.

DH was moved to a room with a harbor view (Food Director is a friend from high school and worked with the Nurse Manager to accomplish that). He was on video monitoring vs. 1:1 as of 3 yesterday so if that held overnight it is the first step to discharge (likely on Monday). Much less agitation yesterday and even when DH was agitated it was at a much lower level.

I am off to WW now, then the hospital, then haircut. BIL came late yesterday so I had to reschedule the hair to today. What else is new?

Have a satisfying Saturday!

With clothes, but not coffee yet. Same state as my weigh-in at WW 10 days ago. I am actually in the range they look for (which I think is normal BMI), but I now have 13.8 pounds to get to my goal. I think it will be slow but I do like the accountability of going to weekly weigh-ins that I am paying for (makes me go, LOL).

There's so much caregiving happening within our group. 'Tis the season, and I don't mean Christmas time. And life keeps changing. There's also new life--babies, children learning, a wedding. There's no denying human beings are meant to care for each other.

Today's Theme: To everything there is a season.

No weight this morning-hit the floor running....

After being absolutely sure that sweet Noodle was to be our last dog.....Who should appear but Swann (aka Clowney dog), and we are now fostering DS#1's Welshie. Son's assignment at work has morphed into a supervisory position that sends him who knows where several times a month for days on end.

DH and I find ourselves on a steep learning curve as we negotiate the special needs this breed of dog seems to have- ( Noodle, was basically a stuffed animal that breathed, ate, followed us around and had no other emotional needs than to snuggle. With no brain to speak of, she was an "easy" keeper.). Swann, on the other hand has a brain that needs to be challenged, a body that (seemingly) is non-stop active, and a personality that demands interaction. DS (sigh), while giving the pup lots of love, allowed it the run of his house, as well as complete freedom to dictate its own behavior and lifestyle.

This is the coolest dog ever- but OMG! (This may be a permanent thing, and) we want to be happy and joy filled with Clowney as a beloved part of our home--so--

Let the training begin! Today, already, we have worked on where in the yard to do business, walking nicely on leash manners, and waiting to be invited before going in/out of a door. (Kurt is currently teaching Swann to pay close attention to the football game on TV)

Fortunately, I'm betting Devon can coach you through this horrible experience. ;)

I'd love to have a cuddle bunny right now, but I am just not home enough, and I don't have anyone to care for him/her when I'm traveling.
