12/25/2019 Christmas Day (Wednesday)
Merry Christmas! Just a quick post to get us started on this auspicious, busy day. :)
All your Christmas photos are beautiful, and your Christmas menus sound luscious!
I'm alone here this morning, and although I'm not feeling exactly lonely I am definitely aware of the many differences between previous Christmas mornings in this big house and today.
On the plus side, I'm still marinating in so many lovely South American and Antarctic memories.
This morning I'll join my sister's family at a niece's Christmas morning brunch. Biscuits and bacon will be involved.
Only because of this group's charter and our reason for gathering here together, I'm reporting this morning's weight of 143.2. However, today calories still do not count.
Sending more love to you on this precious holiday.

Merry Christmas tribe! I love you all.
I went to DS' birthmother's annual Christmas Eve get together last night and was able to enjoy some excited children. Though I am at the hospital now, I will be leaving around noon and going to SIL's around 1 where the rest of the family will converge for the rest of the day.
Have a cheer filled Christmas Day!

Same to you, Liz. :) I'm glad you are finding Christmas cheer amidst your travails this holiday season.
I'm raising a cup of Christmas coffee to your health and joy, wherever and however you find it and create it.

Merry Christmas, tribe!
Ann, your voice here is a Christmas gift. I have missed your postings! And, yep, calories don't count today.
Christmas Eve festivities were swell. Only 8 of us last night. Missed my niece, her husband and the toddler, Paisley! I love having the little ones here for Christmas. But, alas, it was not meant to be. Niece who was once a horrific, self absorbed flake, has done a 180 since becoming a mom and didn't want to risk driving down from Nevada and not getting back for work tomorrow in case of too much snow on the road. Color me proud!
Puppies are fed and have fat, round bellies. Their pen is clean for the moment. The big dogs are quiet and enjoying the cold gray of this Christmas morning. It is definitely CA winter weather here today. Ron is churching and I am relaxing with my first cup of coffee. We have a full day ahead, so I should get ready, but I would rather be Leisure Man and hang out in my slippers and sleepwear (cuz that's more appropriate than admitting to being in sleep boxers and a Tee! LOL).
My most cherished ornament is a 50+ year old piece of dime store cheap. He is a felt Santa, about 1 1/2 inches high, and very well worn. I remember him on our childhood tree. When my mother gave up having a tree I took this ornament and have loved him every, year. I hang him on the tree so I can see him when I sit in my chair. He is carefully wrapped and stored away at the end of each Christmas. Funny how such a little thing can mean so much. I guess he represents all my Christmases; past, present and future. He is the keeper of my Christmas memories. He is the little fellow who opens the cupboard to my childhood Christmas joy each year and lets it come rushing to the surface. He is my reminder that Christmas "magic" really does exist if you simply let it happen.
What a lovely, lovely post, Devon--so full of gratitude and acknowledgment.
Thanks for your shout-out about my return. As wonderful as my travels are, it's always good to come home and settle back into a lifestyle that supports my health. This time, it's fun to be making plans for 2020 (I'm one of those who adores New Year Resolutions, no matter what they're called).
And what an auspicious number for the coming year, eh? "Twenty-twenty" sounds so balanced. And suggests 20-20 vision. :)
