Liz I'm glad that you have a direction/plan to head towards and everyone is in agreement. Clear indicator that it's the right path.

I'm feeling rather Zen about the whole Christmas thing, when perhaps what I need is a sense of urgency, since I have several presents yet to purchase and some cooking/baking etc. Maybe it will kick in tomorrow :)

I picked daughter up from the airport in the wee small hours of the morning yesterday. When DH got home from work, we went to see the final Star Wars movie. I told my daughter I started my journey with the Jedi when I was 16years old, now here I am at 58 still following this franchise. Later in the evening, a fire was made, bff came over, watched a few episodes of the crown and popped a bottle or two of Prosecco. There may also have been some fudge consumed.

Today will also be pretty Zen, the major to do activity will be some more baking. And of course, the Sunday paper.

Looking forward to hearing about what everyone is up to, especially Shirls party.

Greetings Precious People

I have little to report on weight and maintenance except I think I need to order larger pants. Not a pleasant thought. I went through some drawers and got rid of stuff I don't like or is snug or whatever. Hope the thrift store is open.

Neighbor lady brought over a beautifully wrapped tray of home made goodies. Great stuff but some of it is kind of too soft so its in the fridge. As of this hour, I have had two items and feel icky. Sugar begats sugar.

Since I didn't know we were going to friends until a couple of days ago, I hadn't done much for Christmas. A dozen people, all adults, so it should be relaxing though kids at christmas are fun. And only fun people are coming. So today I went to the great little mom and pop restaurant and got gift certificates for people who live near there and are struggling - one couple with a blown off roof and another where the husband is a stroke victim. Still one single woman to buy for - fancy coffee so far. And the big one - DH - I think I am going to add him to my gym membership. He has not visited the place but I think he would like it. He hurt his back a couple of days ago and I would like to see him get in a jacuzzi.

Liz I am so grateful you have the hospice for DH. I am betting it will work out. Those folks have much knowledge not known to us mortals. The worst part is how fearful it must have been for DH which is the reason he acts up. Calming with medication is really the kindest thing for him. My mother had periodic anxiety attacks and the meds were a godsend. Don't worry about putting on a brave face for your kids. Just do whatever face you feel like and enjoy the company of your family. No law says you can't order a pizza for dinner.

Today I got into my giant jar of coins because the gallery needed some. Shuffled money around so we had plenty. And took a huge amount of cash to the bank. Dope growers pay with cash.

BB, good to hear from you. Bet you are so looking forward to creating and continuing christmas traditions for your girls. Accept that it will be chaos and enjoy it.

My remaining brother is still struggling with side effects of chemo and is tired a lot. He has a low key Christmas planned. The most recent lab results were encouraging but he has a way to go. I don't think he will ever be cured of this but can get it under control and monitored. I think he has another infusion tomorrow.

Sounds like Shirley's party was great. Wish I could have beamed myself there. And I sure hope they are not suffering from the fires like the rest of Australia.

Take care all.

Diane

Strangely I am not eating a lot but I am having 2-3 glasses of wine before bed. Medicinal maybe? Thank you for reaffirming my feelings. I think hospice is the right choice for DH.

Yep Liz I am positive hospice is what is right for your DH. DH's sister was on hospice in the hospital and they were great. And its totally cool to have medicinal wine in the evening. I also did that when at my Mom's. Wishing you the best. ds

Liz, I'm so glad things are on a good path now with DH. You have my prayers.

Five days in a row eating reasonable amounts and calories. Who'd a thunk it? I was down another pound today, so the de-water-weighting is still happening (-6.4). Christmas, my birthday, and New Years where we have a big dinner will all throw a wrench in the works, but I am trying to focus on making all these days of good eating mean I won't exit the holiday season weighing even more.

Today my home phone stopped working. It's from the cable company and I kept it because it was meant to be more reliable than my cell phone, but it isn't. It goes down all the time. I spent an hour at the cable store getting a modem for it, but it still isn't working (though at least there are now lights blinking on it). If I get get it going, it's a sign that it's time to get rid of my landline. I don't like the idea of always having to have my cell phone near me in my house, but this is so annoying.

Hugs all around...

I don't have a landline in Florida and only have one here for my alarm system (which has been having communication errors all week).

Great job on the de-watering! I joined WW last week just to keep me accountable and was hoping for a holding pattern on weight over the holiday. I plan to do my next weigh-in on Saturday. I don't think I've gained anything thus far, but there are eating events tomorrow night and Wednesday which may affect it. As long as I don't graze afterwards I hope it will be okay.
