6 days to Christmas and I still really am not looking forward to it. But it feels like Christmas here weather wise - 14 degrees this morning and a small amount of crunchy snow on the ground. I had to put a sweater on Justice - he did half his business but I bet there will be solid waste on the floor later. He is afraid to walk on the crunchy ground...

Eating was good yesterday as expected when one starts the day at WW. My next meeting is either this Saturday or the following one. I'll see how I feel Saturday morning.

I need to get on the phone soon to follow up on the new psychiatric plan for DH. He was calmer yesterday and slept well two nights in a row. He also had a major incontinence blowout two days in a row right before dinner, which is when all staff is very busy. DS did the shower and clothing change on Tuesday and I did it last night - we had staff take care of the wash and room cleanup. I hate this stuff... DH does too but can't help it.

I have my "date" tonight at a nice fish restaurant. Saturday I am going to meet with DD for a Christmas party in our old neighborhood, staying overnight at DD's, then a birthday party for one of her friends on Sunday. It will be nice to get away.

Have a thankful Thursday!

Liz, enjoy your date! You deserve a night out!

I woke up 3.8 pounds lighter this morning after one decent day of eating 1254 calories of low carb instead of several thousand worth of candy, bread, and other carb intensive stuff. It's amazing how much water I retain eating food like that.

Today I have my therapist and I need to get out of the house while the cleaning people are here. But first I have to pick up my bedroom and bathroom. The rest of the house is tidy. Maybe after today I can keep my room tidy too. What a concept.

I've been listening to a Peter Walsh book called, "Does This Clutter Make My Butt Look Fat?" He makes the connection between clutter and fat and talks about how neither issue is about the stuff or weight, but both are a symptom of trying to deal with other emotional things by acquiring more or eating more. And the delay in dealing with either is an attempt to delay dealing with the emotions or situations we are avoiding. So basically overwhelm and avoidance. And a cluttered environment makes it harder to make good decisions about food and health. Not rocket science, but nice to have it spelled out.

Peps, I love those puppy food pics. And you are strong as hell! DianeO, how goes WW? Dave, please take care of yourself. DD, enjoy your staff potluck and clean house! I'll have to check out Bloodlines. Shirley, feeling any better? Bet you're busy getting ready for your party. Anyway, hope you all have a wonderful day!

I am absolutely an anti-clutter person. It makes me feel out of control when there is too much stuff around in the wrong places. And I definitely have a history of over-eating when I feel out of control.

Nice job on your eating btw! I am trying to feel in "control" of eating through the holiday season and the current stress because that also makes me feel better overall. I think being an adult child of an alcoholic and having a fair amount of loss early on makes me need control as much as I can get it.

So I eat when I feel out of control and when I am in control of my eating I feel better. Hmmm...

I wish I was an anti-clutter person! I am far from a hoarder or a tchotchke addict, but my piles get out of control and one room I have has become the place (pit) where I throw stuff I don't know what to do with. I hate that room. My "public rooms" are pretty good, but don't open any drawers or cupboards!

I feel exactly the same about control and eating. I feel so much better controlled, it's perplexing to me why I don't do it more often.

Frigid weather here too.... wind chill close to zero. Snowblower won't start and it was picked up to be repaired. Fifteen bags of pellets stacked in basement. Thirty-five to go, then I'm scheduling a 90 minute massage. Miss Bonnie, yes I did stage the process. Up three stairs from garage to kitchen and across dining room to top of basement stairs. They then get rolled down stairs and forty feet across the family room to the stack next to the pellet stove. I love the stacking pattern that alternates/staggers by level like bricks. Tidy and precise....just the way I like it.

Here is my bitmoji hair style for tomorrow, but even more dramatic.

I collect dust in the shop. It will suck a long distance through a small pipe. 2 inches or so. That way you could vacuum from the garage. Into a hopper in the basement. Only if I was closer. LOL.

I am moving slow but improving. Laying around.
I made some end grain cutting boards. Put some in a local store. He bought all I had. Made me feel better too.
