I didn't do anything I thought I would do this weekend. Sleeping has been very poor. We hung out at the pool for a while, went to a craft fair, then went to a place on the water for a drink. Early to bed but then I was awake at 1:30. Sigh...
Today we are going for our now annual trip to the sand sculpting contest in a Fort Myers. This will be the fourth time. Prior to that I am getting my stuff ready for the trip home tomorrow. No luggage, but I still need to make sure I have important stuff like my iPad, etc. I need to download some shows to watch on the plane.
We have friends who live in Falmouth and our park here who are traveling down tomorrow. So we have an elaborate scheme to exchange keys and car locations when we meet at the airport in Providence, RI (the same plane flies back and forth). That means not having to ask for a ride for either of us. Thursday when I return, SIL will be going back to Falmouth so we will do the same thing.
Have a sunny Sunday if possible. I will post sand sculpture pictures when I can.

Lazy Sunday here. We did not do all the things we planned to do this weekend either. DD was not feeling well on Saturday. She came into my bedroom and started watching morning news programs with me. I did some Mom things like bring her tea and Dayquil, and then she fell asleep for 5 more hours. Funny how even when your 26 years old, you want to sleep in Mom and Dad's room when you're sick.
DS had spent the night at a friend's house, if he and some high school buddies get together and have some drinks, they never drive. They all either sack out at the host's house, or someone comes and picks them up. So he was tired too, and took a nap. Instead of going to see knives out, I made pizza, got a fire going, and we watched Netflix. Started a new series called Politician. Sort of a cross between the movie Election and the series Gossip Girl. I liked it, but it is for a particular taste. We also watched a few episodes of Flea Bag on Amazon. I love this series. Smart, wildly funny story about people who behave badly, and can yet be endearing, and sometimes tender.
Both kids have left, DD is back in Boston (took her to the airport at 4:30 am, her early flight turned out to be perfect timing, because there was a let up in the storm here, and apparently a storm is rolling into Boston this afternoon. DS is on the road, and told me the young woman he just started dating is cooking him dinner and bringing it to his apartment when he gets home. This is a very new friendship, so he's not sharing a lot of details yet, but he does say she is very interesting.
With the first of the holiday eating events behind us, I am feeling pretty good about how it all went. I managed to indulge on Thanksgiving Day without thinking it meant I should continue all weekend. Feeling pretty in control as I head into the week.
I'm hoping that some of our tribe has been quiet the last few days because they are busy. Check in, we worry when people are away too long unexpectedly.
Good Morning All
Popping in after a crazy busy weekend. DH, DSS, DSD and 2 grandkids all arrived at Farm Friday night. Our eldest Grandson is a typical busy boy and loves the farm very much. Rides on the Mule, Tractors and Farm Ute. Blowing bubbles with a wand stick I bought him. Running around in the fresh air and having a complete ball. We spoilt him lots. They both warm my heart so very much
I had the whole family over Saturday night for dinner. My SIL didnt come as she was not well - so I made her a serving and DH took it over between courses. We were all worried about her breathing and BIL was working in Melbourne. He couldnt make her go to hospital so I went over with my niece to check on her and "convince" her after dessert. Well took one look at her, temps and barely able to get words out with severe asthma I told her I was packing her bag and taking her to hospital. Thankfully she didnt argue too much. We went to Urgent care and she was seen immediately- thankfully they were able to make her more comfortable after massive doses of inhalers etc etc. Around 2.15am the Doctor came in and said they were keeping her - so I drove back to the farm - arriving home after 3am. Up with Grandson at 6am as he was sleeping in mini house with us. Picked up SIL mid morning from hospital and got her settled at home. We brought her back to Melbourne last night as she goes into hospital at noon today for more treatment. I finally fell into bed around midnight and truely struggled to get up for work this morning. Im actually bone tired. No weight this am but I suspect I will have lost more as I literally have not stopped all weekend.
We had our contractor at the farm both Saturday and Sunday - digging to find water so we could install the well. Saturday was very unproductive - were DH and SIL thought the water was - it wasnt - so we pulled the pin around 5pm. Sunday the decision was made to try closer to our spring fed dam - again nothing - GRRR so Plan C - was to revert to original test dig site as the rains were coming and the excavator will get bogged if too far down underground in the wet. Thankfully they got the rock surrounds and well rings in just as the rain started - as it continued. I thankful to say we now have a well in - and its filling nicely. It is the next step in allowing us to maintain enough water for our gardens and stock when we move up there full time. Another item off the every growing list of things to do
I am hoping for a quieter day today and most of all an early night tonight. Both DH and I are tired. I have a couple of errands to run when I finish work then will make a simple chicken wombok salad. DH has an evening appointment too. Its shaping up to be a busy week with things on every night.
Liz - I am so sorry to read that DH is still not great and you are flying home to sort out things. I hope that it goes well and you can get some answers
DD- Snow - wow ! We are having crazy weather changes - from hot to cold and rain. Glad you had a wonderful time with your kids and family :) Special
Peps - Sorry to hear about Mumma Ella - I hope that she starts feeling better very soon. Hope things have settled in the cranky stakes - I can relate at times !
Hello to everyone - sorry my brain isnt working too well this morning. I hope to be back on track with weighing and posting this week
I had best go and get some more work done as Im holding the fort today - both guys are out at client sites on installs and inductions
Take care all
S
Yes my thoughts exactly ! I think she realised I was not going to take no for an answer. Her biggest thing was that she didnt want to incovenience me ! Sheesh. I would do ANYTHING for my family. And thats what I said to her. She would have been doing the very same for me if the situations were reversed

Brrr, still cold and overcast here.
Today involved braving a shopping center because I'm a masochist and procrastinated until Black Friday weekend to get a birthday present for my friend's birthday tomorrow. But it's done. Just need to wrap it all up.
Thanksgiving leftovers are gone, but I still need to reign my eating in. I don't know what's wrong with me. It's like the devil on my shoulder is running the show, buying the food, and stuffing my face.
Liz wishing you sleep and a good and productive trip to see DH. Shirley, make sure you fit in some taking care of you too! DD, all that snow! Stay warm!
Greetings Peeps Peps and Pets
No weight here. I have not weighed in awhile. I need to start but am afraid. I have not been pigging out but a bite here and a bite there. Does not bode well.
We finally had a sunny day. I went to the studio where someone brought in fresh made soft pretzels that were to die for. I only ate a couple of bites but it adds up. My studio mate and I have decided we really need to de junk the room so I did a bit today. Amazing what you find under all the layers. Tools I had forgotten about, jars of unidentified material. It is still full of unfinished projects of our third member who died at least three years ago.
Liz glad you have the ability to make a trip if needed as you are doing. Also glad you have the airport car exchange since getting to airport and back can be a challenge. Hope the infection can get cleared up and your DH becomes more serene. I know how hard it is to deal with a person who lacks normal cognitive skills. Wishing you the best.
Jeepers Shirley no wonder you are tired. Dunno how you do it! Blessings.
Peps hope you are sound asleep and that the puppies are also sleeping. Wishing Ella a speedy recovery. When my Liza had pups I made her an egg every day. She grew to expect it for the rest of her life! In no time will those puppies be rocking and rolling! I may have told you that a year after our pups were all gone I found a tiny petrified puppy turd behind a piece of furniture.
Glad everyone survived Thanksgiving. Christmas dinners are better due to more cooking options. Roasting a stuffed turkey is a challenge in addition to pie making (except for Shirly who makes it sound easy!).
Dave sorry the cold monster is attacking your family. Enjoy that precious Adalyn.
Our power was blipping last night in the wind and went out for some. We are gratefully electrified .
Cecily, an electric powered throw in California? I used to be the queen of electric blankets. Then I discovered down. But now I think I might be allergic to it. Oh well.
Snow Diamond D. I can find some if I go inland about 25 miles but no thanks.
Later all. Diane S
