Pediatricians are limited in what they give for cold and congestion. We have found Zarbees to help. One for cough and one for congestion. There is also a saline nose wash that is pressurized to flush out their nose. They hate it. But it really helps. Simply saline or Zarbees soothing saline with aloe.

I do think sleep deprivation is one of the prime causes of unreasonable hunger. I feel like it is our bodies unconsciously asking for extra fuel to keep us awake and functioning.

New Moen faucet defective. Internal valves failed. Didn't know. Discovered a swamp under the dining room area rug. Warped hardwood floor... sigh.... New faucet coming.... drying out dining room. Sigh....
Opera performance done! Yay! Check that off my list. Kids did really well and the Performers from the SF Opera were very complimentary. Poor kid playing Major General Stanley lost his way during the "I am a modern major general" patter song, but recovered well. He more than made up for it during his first scene!
19 parent conferences completed. 4 more tomorrow. 1 parent MIA (not really, but unresponsive). A home visit is coming for her. Lots of the admin is on my side for this one. It's not an abuse case, but the mom needs help and we have the resources to give it to her. The student is at high risk for emotional crisis and I want to prevent a crisis situation which will result in foster care. That's where it's headed without intervention. She is showing signs of the inclination to self harm. Very worried about this child. She was absent today and we couldn't reach the mother.
Ella GINORMOUS. She has reached the picky eater stage of pregnancy, so I'm sure we will have pups by Saturday. Not a lot of room to eat and when she does eat it has to be GOOD. She refused breakfast and refused Ron's offering of lunch. I scrambled up two eggs, threw in some left over hamburger and chicken meat and 1/2 cup kibble. Gobbled it up. Refused a "normal" dinner, but begged when we ate, which she NEVER does. I went to the market and got chicken breast, cottage cheese, rice and beef to make her a nice mush. Rice is in the instant pot, chicken in the oven. Mama dogs must be spoiled.
Set up the master bedroom for the upcoming whelping. Crates are all in the living room, other furniture moved, whelping box cleaned and set up. Still have to put down the sheet vinyl and the puppy pen, but main (and difficult) part is done.
So there you have it. My day in a nutshell. Not one of the best. I'm a little bit on the tired side.
You are unbelievable! You've got your fifth graders doing Pirates of Penzance with the SF Opera?! And you're prepping haute cuisine for your pregnant empress?! And you're planning to rescue a child in ways that could positively impact the rest of her life?!
I'd say your day was fair to middling.
P.S. Sorry about your faucet/flood though. That part did suck.
