Devon, I'm glad to hear about your conversation with Ron. Your win-win was truly a win.
I also want to address my issues with sugar. This morning I went googling for "sugar addiction" info and found a 5-minute video by a very peppy doctor at the Cleveland Clinic who promises we can detox from sugar addiction in ten days of strict adherence to eating in ways we're already familiar with--high protein, lots of no-starch veggies--plus some other eating tips I hadn't thought were related to sugar addiction. Anyway, the ten-day detox promise encouraged me.
Again, not happy about the scales, but, again, happy about how I ate.
Yesterday's children's beauty pageant was pretty weird. Not my thing. At all. Nonetheless, I was happy that my little great-niece was first-runner-up in her age division. She really was cute--her mom had done a great job styling her to look like an age-appropriate princess (no sequins, no makeup), not a child porn star. But some of those kids ... ai yi yi ... not to mention their mothers ... ai ai yi yi yi yi ... it's a weird, weird world. Ok, I've checked that off my bucket list. Don't ever need to do that again.
This afternoon I'm going to see Ford vs. Ferrari--a film I'm surprised to be interested in, but am because of so many awesome reviews.
Despite my good bariatric review last week, I'm feeling tired lately and can't figure out why. I'll see my general practitioner this week for my annual (non-bariatric) physical and try to find out what's going on.
That's all I got, folks. :) Sending each of you wishes for a good Sunday, whatever and however you need it to be for you.
No music today. :)
Good morning! Yesterday I had written a post about having one more sleep until Florida. WELL, I never pressed Submit, so no more sleeps to Florida.
BIL is picking me up in 10 minutes. All is ready including Justice. I just have to finish my coffee. It should be sunny and 70 when we land just after 2.
I am feeling a little worried about DH because he has continued to be more agitated and was not eating yesterday. It has been almost impossible to engage him in anything for more than a minute or two. As my Portland SIL said, I'm only 3 hours away and can come home if I need to. DH did have a lot of visitors this week so maybe that is part of it.
The new TV replacing the old pixelated one in Florida arrives Tuesday, with 25% paid by DS to upgrade it. A new patio set arrives next week. I may swap out the inexpensive area rug in the living room area this year, but that is mostly it for decorating this year. I am looking forward to seeing my new shower door.
Have a sunny Sunday if possible!

I had a bit of a off evening. My belly hurt after dinner for a bit, but then calmed down. I worried because a stomach bug is going around school. I do not get stomach bugs, and I hate, HATE vomiting. Keeping my fingers crossed that whatever it was has passed and that was not a precursor to things to come. Not having ever had a stomach bug, I am unfamiliar with how they progress.
Accompanying the belly ache, I also had a bit of short lived depression yesterday. The depression was over my size. C'est la vie, I suppose. Yet, I believe that the emotion is a good thing because it is a reminder that action must be taken - that attention must be paid.
The whelping box and "nursery" must be set up today, GOAT has to be emptied and returned to storage, shopping must be done, food must be prepped, and I have a dog to groom. Damn, too much for a Sunday!
Off I go to start my "day off"!

I'm home. What a wonderful trip! Easing back into real life today, including a step on the scale. I am living proof exercise is not a significant factor in what you weigh! After 243,967 steps (115 miles) walked/hiked/climbed (and it is worth noting that my Apple watch undercut me by about 10-20% compared to my friend's Apple watch), the snacks and meals won and I gained 6.2 pounds. Sigh. Food is ALWAYS the determinate. Damn peanut M&Ms, flat whites, lamb, bacon, desserts.... But it was an amazing vacation and I LOVED New Zealand. Sydney was awesome too, but the green, majestic, sparsely populated NZ won my heart.
Now to reapply my nose to the grindstone and start working back down again.
I find it so crazy you can cover the mileage you do and not have it be a significant factor in weight management. I guess exercise enhances improves other quality of life factors. I bet a good part of those 6 pounds will be gone quickly just by letting go of some water weight. And you had a good thing going before you left, slip back into whatever it was you were doing, and you'll be great.
