Yesterday I had another good (long) yoga class.
Sadly, I wasted almost two hours at the automotive repair shop yesterday after yoga because the mechanic couldn't get a new low tire sensor he was trying to install on my car to work right. I felt bad for him because he was far more frustrated than I was. Still, I had to leave to go home and dress for another appointment. I'll try this again next week when I have more time to wait. BTW, this is one of the big downsides of not having a spouse with a second car who will pick you up and take you home while your vehicle is being worked on. I suppose I need a rental or a loaner ... a car, that is, not a husband.
And then because I was rushed at midday, my lunch was an Egg McMuffin eaten in the car. After my afternoon appointments I was still hungry, so I said to my body, "What am I really hungry for?" Guess what my body said? "Coconut cream pie." So I headed down to the local diner, sat at a table by myself, and had a piece of coconut cream pie and a cup of coffee. I didn't feel guilty at all, but just felt like a regular person.
Then last night I made a nice, healthy dinner (sautéed chicken cutlet, zucchini, caramelized onions, a small glass of wine) and ate at the table. Again I felt like a regular person. Somehow, all of yesterday's food choices felt like progress. To echo Bonnie's recent post, I felt "trustworthy."
And on a completely different note, yesterday I spoke with my cosmetic surgeon's office and rescheduled my neck lift for mid-March. After observing how long it took me to rest up and get back in the groove after returning home from my recent European trip, I realized that scheduling such a significant surgery four days after returning from another big trip next month was cutting it too damn close. So I'm giving myself a big pat on the back for NOT trying to cram too much into my schedule. After all, I'm old and have to take it easy.
Today I'm going to a luncheon to benefit the local college and to a big band concert tonight. Will be a nice day. :)
DianeO...how're you feeling? Bonnie...post-colonoscopy recovery going well? Ceci, I'm looking forward to hearing your Down Under stories when you get home...the pix are gorgeous! Devon? David?
Thank God it's Friday! Let's start the weekend off with J.T. and a little PIE! "Can't Stop the Feeling"

First snow of the season.. to rake or to remove snow ?! Everything is rebalancing ! I have a perfectly fine Fitbit Alta, but I wanted additional metrics (like heart rate) the Versa 2 would provide, so I invested the $$$ and so far LOVE it ! I have more pieces of winter outerwear than anyone could possible need, but I found a great knee length hooded parka yesterday that will keep me walking outside a bit longer. Subaru to the dealer for inspection and routine maintenance, then to a Medicare seminar yesterday. Less than a year until 65...Silver Sneakers here I come !!! Hair cut and color today and then I should look fully recovered !! I see my Primary care doctor today, for a post-discharge follow up. Glucose levels have been unremarkable.

Snow! Makes me shiver to look at it.
Apparently we are essentially the same age - I turn 65 in March and though I don't like getting older I am looking forward to Medicare vs. the high premium retired employee coverage I have right now which has a very large deductible.

So what is your big trip next month? I hope some day to be you Ann. Or Cecily. Or Shirl. Such great trips!
It feels super cold this morning - like winter!!!
If you are on FB, see the joyous video of Justice flying around on the beach yesterday. He seems fully trained to be safe off leash there now and he has so much fun!
Yoga this morning, then a few errands and maybe dinner out.
Tomorrow I need to do some straightening/cleaning for DH's birthday party Sunday. Oh and my brother and his girlfriend arrive for the week from California tomorrow as well. I haven't seen them in five years so I am looking forward to it, except for the fact that my brother can talk non-stop and sometimes I feel like my ears are going to fall off.
Have a flying Friday!

OK, are you ready for this?
Antarctica!
Really.
Not kidding.
Penguins.
Ice.
Glaciers.
Midnight sun.
And so many Facebook pictures you will want to quit Facebook.
