GlaxoSmithKline has now done a global recall of Zantac, so it isn't available. I think it applies to the generics too. They've found NDMA which is a carcinogen in it and I read they are concerned that it becomes extra cancer causing when it reacts with stomach acid.
DD uses it too. Maybe if either of you find a good alternative you can share it with each other. Or at least commiserate over not being able to get Zantac!
I'm hoarding the bottle I have left, and lamenting my casual attitude towards it when I thought I could always buy it. If only I had stocked up. On the other hand, I'm going to try taking what I have left every other day, and maybe I'll discover I don't need it as much as I thought. And here I was feeling all smart because I wasn't using Omperzole, which is linked to dementia.
Great news about your reflux! I have been having a bit over the last month or so too. I wonder if it is the weight I gained, what I'm eating, or if it will stay around if I correct those things.
I've been on the phone for more than an hour dealing with 2 of DH's insurance issues after spending an additional 1/2 hour on a mortgage payment problem yesterday. The bulk of that time I have been on hold. ARGHHHHHH.... Hopefully I will be done with these ridiculous calls for a while after these are resolved. EXCEPT, I need a callback from two of them because they have to look into what the problem is. Again, ARGHHHHHH. I need this like a hole in the head!
Hopefully at some point today I can get over to see DH. A friend is dropping off a robotic cat for DH this afternoon. It was a prop in a recent play which my friend directed and since they don't need it anymore the board agreed to give it to DH. Should be interesting to see if he likes it - I'm sure someone there will if he doesn't relate to it. Here is an online video for them here: https://joyforall.com/products/companion-cats
I forgot about Kittery - maybe I will bop over there if I have time in the next couple of days!
Have a therapeutic Tuesday!

Greetings High Powered Friends
Thought I'd better check in while we have power. It was supposed to go off in the middle of the night but they changed their minds and now it is to go off at 9pm. There is not the slightest hint of wind here and it all makes no sense. Most businesses can't stay open and I feel for all the people who therefore can't go to work and don't get paid. Many people live paycheck to paycheck here as cost of living is high. So sad.
But I will get to go play Scrabble today by the fire and then attempt Costco. It will be packed but with guests coming for Halloween I have to shop.
DianeO I am so glad your GI stuff turned out to not be something bad. I am amazed you got 2000 steps! Good for you and glad you are doing well. I like that you see IV sedation as entertainment.
Dave thanks for sharing Adalyn pic. What a doll. Makes me think about the Nutcracker. Hope your pain is declining.
Cecily glad you found some clothes. I so remember cutting tags out - at least in pants. Whats most important is that you are comfortable and feel good. We all need to remember that no one is looking at us thinking "I wonder what size that blouse is?"
DD good on you for passing on the Sugar Orgy. I remember that even in a business office there was a constant array of holiday treats and they were all high sugar. What a gauntlet. But Peps, you did the right thing eating a bit of the super excellent home made cake and not doing a Kit Kat.
Well out house still looks like an exploded thrift store and I am totally not ready for Halloween nor anything else. Only one thing to do - drink more coffee! Diane S
