I am up early enough today to start the thread as I slept well last night and don't have too much on the agenda today. The most important is getting Justice's nails clipped. He is so easy-going that I thought I could do it but no way! The local (non-chain) pet store has $5 Tuesday nail clipping.

My test yesterday of intermittent fasting went well. We will see what transpires today... I only had about 800 calories yesterday. I wasn't hungry in the evening but I did have some of those nasty cravings. So I hope I can shut them up after a few days.

Today BIL is supposed to visit DH. We will see if he shows or not. I'm going to take DH out for a beach walk this week if we get a nice day. I didn't want to take him out until he'd been there for a few weeks, but it has been over 3, so I think it is okay.

Have a timely Tuesday!

Day 1 in the book, Liz. You've got this. I think that finding what feels comfortable and natural food wise is what can be maintained in the long run. Nights are my danger hours, too, especially if DH heads to bed before I- old tapes engage.

Another cool but sunny and delightful day in SEKansas--may the Fall season continue till the 2nd week in December. Spent some time outside yesterday picking up sticks and trimming tree branches. I love to use a loper, but have been concerned with over stressing internal abdominal incisions- so only cut small branches.

Out and about today helping in the art part of an after school kids program. I'll look around for stuff to drop off at St Vinnie's- am in house purging mode - loosing stuff from the house makes me feel mentally lighter.

Thinking of Shirl today. Take care and walk gently.

Thanks for getting us started, Liz ! In love with my Instant Pot. Threw out the house crock pot...still have one in the RV. SS is still in the shop being winterized and having the controller on the auto leveling system replaced, under warranty. When she have SS back, I'll place the Irish Spring and Bounce to keep out rodents. I liked the new gastro yesterday. I'm scheduled for an upper GI series Monday as he suspects reflux may be causing some damage. As I am already at the top of PPI dosage, he suggested I prepare myself for a revision to RNY. I finally made it to the YMCA, and had a great experience. Yes..there is something to be said for family room availability ! I yearn to be a beast like PEPs and scheduled an assessment with a trainer the first week in November. I can't exert myself for two days after Monday's procedure. Lots of wind here today, so no leaf collection to stretch out.

Irish Spring? Bounce- Rodents???? Do those little *******s like to eat your vehicle wires also???? Have heard of moth balls. Does your stuff work? We have outdoor cats that help some, but.....

Wow on the potential RNY news. How are you feeling about that as a possibility?

Okay, so what do you do? Place a bar of soap someplace or do you put soap shavings about? I am very interested to know the technique!

Full opened sheets of Bounce and chunks of Irish Spring (bigger than shavings, smaller then quarters). I put a bar on the work bench, place a piece of plywood over it, and wack it with a mallet. I use the soap in the basement (the outside access storage areas) and the Bounce in the RV itself. We've never had mice in the living area and we remove all food and clothes for the winter.

Hey everyone!

I went the dermatologist this morning to have an overgrown blood vessel zapped on my nose. It looked like a perpetual zit. The procedure was fast (though unfortunately included a shot in my snout) and I go back after my trip for the final blast. The worst part was the drive! I forget how bad traffic is here in the morning particularly. It took 27 minutes for me to drive the 3.5 miles to the freeway. What a mess. No wonder every mayoral candidate runs on a platform of fixing the traffic lights! And no one ever gets the job done. This road is 3 lanes of traffic each way through a residential area and moves that slow. Mind boggling.

So one appointment down, one to go. This afternoon is the endocrinologist. Then dinner with my friend who leaves tomorrow.

It's already 86 here and still morning. Another hot one! At least it makes me less hungry when I'm hot.

I have the same some days on my way to school. My commute is a whopping 7 miles. Some days it takes 25 minutes. Sometimes it takes over an hour!
