Monday, 10/21 - this is just WRONG!
Peps, have you ever tried Fairlife milk? It's 13 grams of protein per 80 calories (1 cup). It has more protein and less lactose than regular milk. I like to dress it up with a shot of espresso and sf syrup for a creamy iced coffee, or sometimes ice and just sf vanilla. If I do 2 cups, it's 160 calories, and 26 grams of protein, almost as good of stats as a protein shake, and in my opinion, much more palatable.
Thanks for the reminder.
I have had Fairlife before and like it very much.
Strangely I can do regular milk, yogurt, and all other dairy products without issue. It's just the whey protein isolate. I think maybe it hits me too fast OR perhaps I over did it drinking protein shakes daily-sometimes twice per day for at least 5 years. I know one can develop an allergy from over eating something. I was a lactose intolerant infant, too, but outgrew it.
I used to drink nothing but nonfat milk, but switched to 1 or 2 percent several years ago. I will look at the stats on the 1%.
Thanks again!
Greetings My Chatty Friends
Lots of interesting comments today. Peps I may have to get that coffee maker. I do the simple pour in a cone thing. But considering how important coffee is, $300 is doable. I have several old coffee makers including a single cup maker and an old standard drip one. My mom and crazy Pat used to make a pot of coffee, drink what they wanted and then keep the rest sitting in the glass carafe over night and heat it in the microwave the next day!!!!!!! Disgusting! Pat also somehow thought coffee makers should never be washed.
A beautiful sunny day here too and I got errands run. DH wants to put a big generator in that runs on natural gas. Don't thinks so. But we do have to plan for future power outages. Disaster preparedness sites list all this stuff including so many gallons of water per person that I could never carry it.
BB I am not training but I did join a gym with a big pool which is my main objective. Today I went there and squeezed into my bathing suit (complete with skirt) only to find a sign on the pool door that it was closed for maintenance. I let the jolly youngsters working at the front desk know that they needed the "pool closed" sign at the front so people didn't change clothes before finding out. Like Duh!! But the good news is I found a very old bathing suit (like 20 years plus) that I had outgrown. Put it on and it is wearable but pretty loose! Vive la sleeve.
So thinking of all of you who are experiencing grief of one form or another. It is indeed a beast. I guess we just learn to make peace with it.
Liz we are glad you are finding activities and enjoyment in life. And glad your BIL kept his visit appointment.
Cheers all. Diane S
Diane, We have a Generac generator that runs on natural gas and turns on automatically when the power goes out. It starts itself once a week and runs for 5 minutes to keep functional when not on for an extended period of time. It is fantastic! We had it put in when we moved to the Cape full-time as power outages are pretty common here.
