I would say good morning, but it's afternoon for some of you!
I was up early for thyroid blood tests this morning. The vampires have been busy with me this week. That makes 23 vials! Does making more blood burn calories? I'm heading to the movies with a friend today. To popcorn or not to popcorn? That is the question. I have been on a good food streak this week and breaking that usually leads to more eating. So I might try to avoid it.
Anyway, hope everyone is well and having a good day...
Thanks Peps. Yeah I was pretty worried about little brother - especially when he ended up in the hospital. He has been on chemo for a month and the good news is that the nasty protein that is making him sick has reduced by 50%. Its still way too high but treatment seems to be working. Thats good because if the treatment failed the next option is heart transplant. !!!!!!!
Glad you are down a few. You will be proud to know I finally had orientation session at the new health club. Boy am I a wet noodle! Let my trainer know about my hand issues - like forget the big rubber bands - and he was really nice about looking for work arounds. He said he will look up the disease. Did some of the weight machines and they are familiar - same stuff as the old Nautilus machines from way back.
Puppies? Tesla is an OFA good on hips.

Good Morning All,
Up and working after another late night. I started on my SIL's photo tribute that will be played at her service. My Tablet wasnt set up to scan to my mfc printer as its new. No problem I thought I will just download software and drivers etc and off we go. Wrong ! I forgot it needed a cable connection between it and the printer. It was also being flakey about being hotspotted off my mobile as no internet at farm house yet. Realisation at 7.45pm last night and I drove into nearest big town to grab one. Thankfully I was back and working around 8.30. Stayed up till around 12.30 scanning and cropping photos. Im waiting for DH to get to work so I can facetime him and show him for an opinion as all I want to do is make sure this showcases the wonderful person she was.
The funeral is now set for 10.30 next Wednesday, there will a wake afterwards. We are expecting it to be big as she was a very significant person in the large Medical Hospital up here for many years. Thursday they are arranging a private burial at 11am followed by lunch at my other SIL. DH and I will come back up Monday night as we will go to her viewing on Tuesday. Im wondering if it will actually let the realisation sink in a little for me as it truely still seems like a horrible dream. All our kids and grandkids will start arriving from Tuesday night - not sure where we will all fit but will make it work. I have grabbed the last spare bed over at my other SIL for my mum so at least she will have a proper bed.
Today will be work. Teleconference to do Service Board Meeting with the Engineers. Then I will go over to BIL's house to show them what I have done so far. Im waiting on other photos from family before I can finalise the tribute. I need to have it done before I leave to go back to city on Saturday night. I also need to see my other SIL and niece too. DH and youngest DS will be up late tonight. Need to make up the bed in the caravan for him - waiting on the sheets to dry. Its been musical beds of late and it will continue for a bit but Family time is oh so precious.
Cec - Good luck with the bloodwork and enjoy the movies
Diane S - Welcome back x Missed your voice. Are you doing ok?
To all who follow, hello and hope you have a good day

Okay, where is everyone? I know I am usually a late bird, but I am unaccustomed to our eastern tribe members being so quiet. Maybe there is a sense of cocooning and shrouding in self care. That would be okay...
Down another .5 today.
I'm having some nice luck with the sugar monster staying at bay. This is very good. It has resulted in a loss of 5 pounds since my return from PA. I'm wondering how much water I was really holding on to after that trip because 5 pounds down so quickly doesn't really make much sense unless I was really holding on to some major fluid.
Work out last night was another good one. Today is a rest day, but only because I have a grooming from 4-7. Otherwise I would hit the gym. I'm liking the newly found strength this past week. It does seem to come in fits and spurts.
Goals for this week have been to eat less sugar, get more sleep, drink more water, and get more Omega 3s down the gullet. I have realized, too, that my protein level is lower than it really needs to be to support good health and a healthy weight.
I'm going to have to supplement the protein because when it comes right down to it, I don't have the physical capacity to consume 150 - 200+ grams of protein per day (which is what my trainer and doctor recommend I get with the workouts that I do). I tried a Quest Bar last night. No ill effects. That is good! Will try a GNC Amplified Wheybolic shake tonight to see how I tolerate that. If I can, great! If not, then I will use the collagen peptides instead.
High hopes for everyone's Thursdays!

Congrats on the 5 pounds! You had mentioned being really swollen after the flight, maybe that is the source of the extra water.
As I understand it, the collagen peptides are not a "complete protein". This talks about it. Better than nothing, but not a one for one replacement for a protein shake or other complete protein. But if you can't tolerate the whey (and pea protein is nasty) then it's at least part of what you need.
