Morning all! I had a nice lunch with friends and even got a salad instead of a burger. I'm down 2.2 pounds of water weight most likely since I got home. A drop in the bucket for my regain, but I have to start somewhere!
Later I hiked 5.5 miles with one of my friends and seem to have reinjured my foot. Walking this morning first thing was excruciating. I'm going to have to do lots of babying of it the next two weeks. I hate my feet!
Today I take my car in for service, but have nothing else planned. Maybe I'll pick up some epsom salts to soak my foot.
I hope you all have a great day!
The sun is out! It was dreary all day yesterday again so I did nothing... I felt no energy. Today I have already been over to see DH and talk with the physical therapist. He was in good spirits too.
I am waiting to see if BIL cancels on seeing DH today as he usually does in which case I may take DH to walk on the beach with Justice and me. I am going regardless as we are back to the lousy weather for Wednesday to Friday morning. Luckily it is supposed to be nice on the weekend. We have a fundraising walk in Provincetown on Sunday to support our local Alzheimer's organization which has been so valuable to us and other families on Cape Cod. The weather for it was wonderful last year which made it perfect. Doing it in rain and wind would NOT be pleasant.
Have a timely Tuesday.

DD made it home safe from Oregon about 9pm. We were putting Adalyn to bed so DD came this morning to pick her up. It has been a busy weekend. I think Adalyn is on the way to wellness. Still running a little fever but not 103.
Eating has been grazing / stress eating some. Not crazy on amounts. Wt remains about 254. Adalyn watched me weigh so she has weighed about 5 times a day over the week end.
Guess I will go do something without a shadow. Then I will watch something that is woodworking related.

Weight continues downward. Pleases me.
We had a good shaker here last night! I haven't felt a good earthquake like that in many years. My brother said it was the strongest he has felt since the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989. That one was much stronger than this one, but yesterday's was indeed a strong one. The down side was that the earth shook as I was getting bed ready. After the quake I was rather wide awake and sleep was delayed.
Did get a little reading done last night. Boy, oh boy! Simple carbohydrates are worse than I thought. Kind of scary actually. I am sitting with this new knowledge and letting it sink in. Some simple truths about refined sugars and its immediate effects on the vascular system was enough to thwart a reach for junk food this morning at school and caused me to pack an uber healthy lunch high in protein and complex carbs.
Have a workout session with the trainer tonight. Looking forward to that.
Can't remember if I mentioned last night that I realized I don't really care about "goal" weight or anything like that. I'm just feeling happy to focus on feeling good in my own skin. I thought about how much I would like to lose and losing 30 pounds sounds doable and a nice goal. I can do that. It's a nice chunk that is significant enough to make a bit of a difference in appearance, health, flexibility and overall feelings of wellness.
Nice to see BB on the board yesterday! Ann's photos on FB from her French trip are inspiring.
I bet your goal would suit you very well! My DH has a lot of strength and muscle. By the charts his weight should be around 190. I think he looks great when he gets around 230. I've seen pictures of when he was running a lot in his early 20s, and weighed around 185. I think he looks too skinny. I once weighed 130. It was fun, but I also had headaches a lot. I'd rather focus on wellness and optimizing health.
Back late from conferences. Instead of a potluck provided by parents and it's delicious minefield to navigate, the National Guard recruiters brought us box lunches from a local cafe. I had a club on whole wheat that was appropriately meaty.
After tomorrow, we have a 4 day weekend. What a relief!!! Thursday we plan to visit a few wineries along the Mississippi River. Yes, wineries in Minnesota! The bluffs of the Mississippi provide a special micro climate that's great for apples (it's where honeycrisps were cultivated) and cold weather grapes. We are not going to put these wines up against a nice Merlot from Sonoma, but they do have some merit. And if they don't, by the 4th or 5th stop, I probably won't be too discerning. DH is the designated driver, he's in charge of me and two of our friends. The man's a gem to do this for I'm sure it will be an interesting day for him.
