Tee hee the generator had a little gas in it so it's running the refer. Our house cleaner is coming today because there is lots to be cleaned without power still. Plus dh was running vacuum on the generator!
he is having great fun playing with gadgets - battery powered phone chargers. Pays to be married to Uber nerd! Ds
Unlike a million of my fellow Californians, I have power. It's probably because I teach in a fairly affluent neighborhood. I'm on the edge of 12,000 acres of open space that abuts a state park wildlife preserve. I work in a high fire danger area, so no clue why we have power.
This whole no power thing is total BS, by the way. It's to save the company's ass. The firestorms two years ago were caused by PGE's lack of maintenance and then last year the Paradise Camp fire was also due to PGE negligence. PGE is having to pay BILLIONS in reparations. Funny, the execs still got bonuses last year. Hmmmm.... But, I digress! It was SUPPOSED to be hot, dry today with severe high winds. Instead it's upper 70s with a slight 6 mph breeze from the south. But, PGE still went ahead with several scheduled power outages. I guess they feel the need to **** people off even more. I predict that PGE will be broken up into subsidiary companies within a few years.
Weight was the same this morning. Ankles still swollen, but better. Eating has been more on track today, too. Thank heavens!
Have a workout scheduled today at 5:30. It will be good to get back into the routine of the gym.
You are right peps. PGE sent junk mail around 10 days ago suggesting people have a back up plan. They knew they were going to do this. It's not even hot here on the coast and only moderate wind. Our power comes from inland and that's where they worry about burn
notification here was last minute and poor. Many did not know until late yesterday. I fear for older people and that there will be deaths.
but dh says we can run tv off generator. He is out foraging for gas.

Good Morning All, Popping in a little late as our nephew stayed overnight so I got up and made him bacon & egg sandwiches before he left on his adventure. Most of our sons are going 4 wheel driving this weekend. They should have a good time - Stepson is meeting up with them on Saturday for 1 night as he couldnt get time off.
Busy night after work - I got into the kitchen and came out 4 hours later. Needed to use up potatos n sweet potatos so I made 2 x Potato & Sweet Potato Bakes, 2 huge batches of sweet potato, fetta and roasted pinenut sausage rolls.Baked Potatos topped with chorizo, onion, roasted capsicum, mushrooms, cheese - not low cal but was a delicious dinner. DH took leftovers for lunch and DS is having it again tonight as we are out.
We then took my neighbour into hospital to see her DH. She fell off a ladder last weekend and has torn her ACL off and damaged MCL. She is in a brace for 6 weeks with no driving till they see if it will repair else it will be a reco. Her DH is accident prone to say the least - I have had to be medic when he fell off the roof before !!! Managed to have an accident with the drop saw (they are renovating to sell and move to QLD) - he had a skin graft yesterday and should be home today. I took over some zuchinni loaves I had in the freezer and some sausage rolls. Will help out as much as I can in the coming weeks. We have told them both they are banned from climbing any ladder and they are doing everything in their power not to leave us. Had a good giggle.
Off to see Stepsons new home tonight. It was finished whilst we were in the States. Taking dinner and looking forward to spending some time with the boys. Decided on Lamb Chops, Potato Bake and Salad - have watermelon for dessert. Should fill hungry tummies.
Diane O - Great News about your Blood Pressure. Not so great about the reflux. Hope you can get it sorted. I carry Zantac around with me as I need it occassionally but thankfully not often. Find it worse after spicy foods
Will respond to others after their posts and hello to all who follow

Late check in, home from conferences at last. I did have some good conversations with parents. Feeling better about what I ate today. Small steps for now.
Facebook let me know it was my sils birthday today. (The sil who died this spring). When I read the notification, it felt like a cold glass of water tossed in my face. The first milestones...
Time for bed, and get ready for what tomorrow brings.
