Weight: 141.6
Protein: 65
Carbs: 89
Veggies/Fruits: 11
Water: 16 ounces (not great, but some actual water was drunk)
Sleep: 4.5 hours
Exercise: Yoga class (35"), mowing (80"), walking (30")

Weight's down a little, which is good, given that I weighed at bloody midnight! Couldn't get back to sleep, so I got up after only 4.5 hours of sleep.

However, I felt (and still feel) pretty good--did two loads of laundry, ironed, read the Michele Obama memoir (will fini**** later this morning in time for book club at noon today), cleaned the kitchen, straightened my closet, looked at the moon, did my morning pages. Now I'm about to meditate, do a sunrise walk, go to yoga class, come home and finish the book, get dressed and go to book club and lunch. Then I'll come home and mow before the start of a rainy weekend tomorrow morning.

Honestly, I don't really hate these quiet nights alone. I get so much done! :)

This morning's oldie-goldie platter is Alica Bridges' "I love the Nightlife"

I sort of beat you at sleep - 5 hours (couldn't fall asleep). I got up a bit later than originally planned which ended up being a problem as hazardous waste cleanup with DH necessitated an unexpected shower for him during which I soaked myself. And we had to leave the house 1/2 hour earlier than usual to get to the PCP to update DH's records.

We are at the PCP now waiting for DH to get a TB test, pneumonia vaccination and flu vaccination. After that I drop him at daycare, then go to the pharmacy to set up the packaging and delivery for assisted living. If there is time I need to look into replacing the lenses on DH's spare glasses.

Busy day today but tomorrow DH will be at daycare again and it is supposed to be warmer so I might do something for myself.

Have a thoughtful Thursday!

Oh yes ... fix up the spare glasses. In full-time care surroundings, glasses get lost a LOT! Nobody steals them, they just get mislaid, fall under furniture, etc. Dealt with that a lot.

  7. I learned/relearned: Engagement and marriage at 64 are different than 24.

So this happened...DC and I are getting married Sunday. (No...not pregnant !) You read it correctly, and heard it here first ! Except for his relocation for work before I retired, we have been living together for seven years. We always assumed we'd get married, but haven't been in a rush as we really didn't see the need. (Before we went to Maine, we even picked out bands and had our jeweler start work on an engagement ring, using some river topaz from a favorite ring, along with a new diamond.)

We own many things jointly but the $$$ truck loan and replacing all of the windows in our home plus getting older underscored the need to simplify things legally. If not now, when ? Just us, two witnesses, and the town justice and a simple five minute ceremony Sunday afternoon, at our favorite place on the lake. We'll celebrate like crazy with family and friends for months !

That's all I've got !

Congratulations! Making things simple is a good thing.

A few years back DW and I talked about a quiet divorce for slight tax advantages and qualifications on low income programs. We would have to have separate addresses, etc. In the end we decided to keep it simple and stay married.

OMG! How did I not register this earlier?????

Congratulations! Love the simplicity of your wedding plans. Terribly adult! SCORE! Glad you're not preggers, either. I immediately wondered when I read you were getting married, if that was the case.

Hugs!

Congrats Diane!!! DC is one lucky guy. Yep simple is best sometimes. Get some cool rings and go for it. Simple ceremony at the lake sounds lovely. And eventually let there be cake!!! Yay you two! Diane S
