Good morning, friends. What a glorious full Harvest Moon we had last night and are having this morning. I just drank my first cup of morning vegetable on the front porch to bask in the moonlight.
Today I'm driving to The Big City for an overnight visit to do some pre-France shopping and errands, see a play and have dinner with friends, and see my college niece and my therapist (tomorrow). I'll be home tomorrow evening.
What a lovely weekend it was. The property looks great (all grass mown, etc.), and it's sweet to have some new mums in the ground. I'm mentally planning next year's herb garden and some new plantings for this fall. Cecily's summer's gardening successes have inspired me.
BTW, yesterday at the movies I saw the trailer for the "Mr. Rogers" movie. I hope it's good, although casting Tom Hanks seems a bit strange. We shall see--I hope it's good. Heck, just listening to "It's a Wonderful Day in the Neighborhood" was enough to send my spirit soaring.
Sleep: Could have been better, could have been worse. :)
Water: Well, there you have it. None. But I did drink a lot of coffee. :)
What I'm Proud of: I did NOT eat any popcorn at the movies yesterday. That's a big deal for me. It was a real confidence builder to decide NOT to do that and then NOT do it. :)
It's Sunday morning and still the weekend. We all seem to be playing as well as best we can, even those of us with stitches and new knees and colds. Life is happening!
Today's musical theme is back by popular demand, and it's a good one: "Harvest Moon" by Neil Young.

Good morning! I seem to be doing the same thing with coffee as you Ann (lots of coffee and very little water). I must change that.
Thank you Shirl for my Wombat. So sweet of you to send these! BIL asked how do you have a friend in Australia???
Yesterday's open houses at ocean view condos were interesting. The condos were super tiny (850 sq ft) with little storage. But they were absolutely adorable Nantucket style cottages with lovely ocean views and lots of privacy. The development is super quaint and there is a beautiful beach right there. They are close to where I live now, I love the style, and I love the beach. But could I live in such a small space (I'd have to get rid of so much stuff that I love)? And I started to realize that this area and one close by which I could also afford have a large number of transient people *****nt for a few nights/a few weeks. I'm not sure there would be any real "community". And clearly no one lives there in the winter. There is a condo development more inland which has some units with a view of a river. They are larger (though older and less quaint). They have a community center, pool, docks, and don't allow short-term rentals. Though the view wouldn't be as spectacular and I would have to drive to the beach (as I do now), it might make more sense. But to meet my current criteria, I would want one of the waterfront units and I don't think there are very many of them (so they don't come up for sale often). There is one for sale now, but obviously I am not making any changes for a long time. Food for thought regardless...
Today it is nicer out than originally forecasted. Maybe even a beach day???
Have a super Sunday!

Good Morning All, up early and enjoying a cup of tea before everyone wakes. Its our last day in Tahoe, we will head back to San Fran after lunch. Its been a great visit!
Yesterday we drove around the lake (its huge) and onto Truckee. Such a lovely town. They were having a Art & Soul event so we joined in. Food Tastings, craft beer & wine & live music - it was really good. The stores are gorgeous and we ended up picking up quite a few things. A 4th case is definately in my horizon as I shopped for clothes for my neighbours 3 girls at TJ Maxx and found lots.

Shirl, when DW saw the Laughing Kookaburra she sang a song she knew as a child.
Kookaburra sitting in the old gum tree.
Kookaburra Song Lyrics
Words to "Kookaburra Sits In the Old Gum Tree"
Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree,
Merry merry king of the bush is he.
Laugh, Kookaburra, laugh, Kookaburra,
Gay your life must be!
Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree,
Eating all the gum drops he can see.
Stop Kookaburra, stop Kookaburra
Save some there for me!
Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree,
Counting all the monkeys he can see.
Stop Kookaburra, Kookaburra stop.
That's not a monkey, that's me!

Good morning! Beautiful sunny fall day. We are driving to a winery, about an hour away, on the bluffs of the Mississippi river. We're going to meet up with some college friends who we haven't seen for probably 20 some years. They moved away, but thanks to their daughter's return to the Twin Cities and the magic of Facebook, we are getting together while they're in the area.
I'm not entirely sure about Tom Hanks and the Mr. Rogers movie. About two years ago, there was a wonderful documentary about Mr. Rogers, I think called, Won't You Be My Neighbor. People in the movie theater were outright weeping when the lights came up. Beautiful movie.
Shirl, I loved the package, and the special care you took in your choice of wrapping paper. So heartwarming. I'd post a picture, but I am pretty mu*****apable of these types of technological tasks. I read and post from my Kindle, and typing is about all it can do.
Liz, I think it's great that you're exploring what's available in the housing market. Knowledge is power.
I hope everyone has a restorative Sunday!

Not much to report! Took a boat ride this morning - it's cloudy, but warm. The trees are definitely beginning to change for fall.
Being from a place with no seasons, I love it, but it's still sad to see summer come to an end.
Sunday breakfast was eggs benedict. Yummy. Salad for dinner. Also swapped out a rug in a guest room for a new, unfaded one. That's about it!
