VSG Maintenance Group
09/14/19,. Saturday
Last day here! A bunch of 5th wheels and motor homes pulled in yesterday (no hurricane this weekend) and the experience is totally different. Dogs and kids on bikes everywhere, much of the open space is gone...we have been spoiled for 11 days. We'll spend the day methodically wiping down and repacking our basement (outside compartments).
Big step... Not going on MFP until Monday to log my weigh in. Go big or don't bother !

Thank you guys for being so gingerly with me.
I feel like you all understand best. You understand how desperately we want to cure some of these physical issues but also the limitations and also that there's the whole mental F that goes along with all of it.
DD you're totally right about the affects of anesthesia I think it always makes me mopey.
I also was getting really irritated with DH telling me "just wait. It'll be better." No Im ticked. The scar on the sides is MUCH more evident and always will be. That's a bummer, especially when I was so clear on my goals. I feel like revisionary plastic surgery has a very high standard and I made it clear that if she couldn't deliver, I was very happy as it was! But, what's done is done. I'm very doubtful that she took enough fat from lipo--as soon as I start googling it I see references to THOUSANDS of cc removal from women with fewer donation sites. But now the best thing to do is hope for the best. But I'm feeling fooled again :(
The good news is I feel so awesome about the explant! I know Shel is lifting a glass to me! I definitely feel restored to where I was meant to be. I'm continuously trying to reevaluate body positivity and plastic surgery and how the two intertwine. I think it's probably ALWAYS wise to try and be happy with yourself no matter what!
I can't fit in any jeans :( Hoping the swelling goes down quickly especially with my binder on. But scale was down a little to 174, so that's a relief.
BB, maybe the scar will end up flatter and not be noticeable once it fades? Mine is 2.5 years old and you really can't see mine at all even if it pokes out of my bathing suit bottom though I had to be careful about hiding it in the first year.
You must have a lot of fluid due to swelling so that weight is probably a little high.
What DH was saying may feel irritating, but he is so supportive of your decisions and wants you to be happy. My DH was like that too. They are keepers.

You guys are so wonderful!!
And you are so right. My hubby is such a gem. He's trying to say the best things and I wouldn't have it. But he is so awesome and I love him for it.
Poor Becca has been quite sick. The best thing I can do is disappear so he doesn't have to take care of me on top of babies!
And you're right, it'll all be all right. Probably better than all right. But there is definitely the need for me to work on loving my body AS IS!
GREAT news about the explant, BB. Really glad for you.

I love learning from you and your evolving self awareness...oh to have processed all of that experience at your age ! Your daughters are so lucky to have a mom who has wrestled with body awareness issues and won !!

DianeO ... happy and safe RVing as you pack up and head home. I wish I had friends to go RVing with to see what that experience is really like. Although clearly, what it's "really like" depends on so many things--camping site, neighbors (or not), nearby attractions and scenery, season and weather, dependability and comfort of the RV, how easy it is to cook onboard, and probably a gazillion other things.
Sleep: Last night I stayed up a little later in the living room, but did NOT take my laptop to bed to watch Netflix. It definitely took longer to go to sleep, but I may actually have slept better once I got to sleep. Hmmm. I wound up with 7 hours , which I like a lot more than 5.5 hours. Of course, 5.5 is better than 3! I can feel the difference as soon as I get up. Not enough sleep makes me feel like my muscles and bones and brain are full of "tired toxins."
Water: Yesterday's 16 ounces of water sucked. I was just a lot more interested in coffee than water. New beginnings. :)
Out and about: Yesterday's library benefit luncheon was worthwhile, because I got invited to join "the good book club" in town. NOT that my current book club and the people in it aren't good--they are! But I already know and like a lot of the people in this second group. And joining the second club means I'll have to read more, always a good thing. This month they're reading Michele Obama's biography (which I own, but haven't read yet), and the meeting is next Thursday, so yikes!
Travel: Yesterday I finally finished making all my travel arrangements for France, including modifying a hotel reservation and making an additional one. This time I used www.booking.com for all hotel reservations, which was simple as pie. Don't know why I drag my feet to finish that sort of stuff, but I sometimes do, and cause a lot of drama and anxiety for myself. Seriously, it's one of the biggest energy wasters in my life! I'm doing better, but want to do a LOT better. New beginnings. :)
Hey, it's Saturday! No schooldays or workdays for any of us (unless DianeS is minding the gallery). Let's play and chill and dance--especially you, Shirl! :)
Today's musical theme: Saturday in the Park by Chicago

Sounds like progress was made yesterday! My SILs and I want to rent a house in Tuscany next year for our significant birthday celebration (they both turn 70 and I turn 65). We've pretty much done this every 5th year since the SILs turned 55 and one was a widow. But I think they are waiting for me to figure out where. I really don't have the energy right now - maybe later in the year, but geez I wish someone would just do it.

BIL is taking DH to see family friends today (the same trip previously scheduled and cancelled 4-5 times). But BIL is here and getting ready. So I'm going to go to a couple of open houses. That may sound boring, but I love looking at houses for sale and have been wanting to check out some potential future condos to know whether the area would be of interest.
Other than that nothing is on the agenda other than a little food shopping, cleaning up the bureau that DH is going to use, and figuring out something for dinner.
Have a satisfying September Saturday!
