I had to go back to mid-Cape today to pick up my car after servicing (I had a very nice, new BMW 530i loaner). They did all the usual stuff but told me they couldn't fix the broken peg on my windscreen (used when the convertible top is down to reduce the wind). They said I'd have to pay $850 to get a new one. The old one works but is a tiny bit crooked due to the missing peg (one of 4 which attach it to the car). I said no way and bought a carriage bolt at the hardware store which I attached to the windscreen with wire. It works and no one will really ever notice it. Yeah!
Went out to lunch with my two SILs and am now sitting by the gas fire pit before dinner. BIL is here hanging out with DH and supposedly is taking him on a short trip to visit family friends tomorrow. If he doesn't cancel, I may go to some condo open houses in a complex I might consider in the future.
Nothing much else going on... Have a happy harvest moon evening!

I'm dull as oats, as my mom used to say. Went out to lunch today, and walked with my dad and his wife along the 1.5 mile conservancy marsh boardwalk. They hadn't seen it yet. It was just as beautiful today, though windy as heck and felt like we were going to blow into the water.
Tomorrow I think I'll work on painting my new screen door. It is gorgeous (ever heard a screen door described that way? ). I had it made by a company in Maine and the center bit has an anchor cut into it. So darned cute! I'm going to paint it cherry red. I ordered it in May, but it took forever. Worth it though. I think I'll wait to have the handyman install it next year as it's so late and I think taking it down for winter makes the most sense. Will post pics tomorrow...
On the fruit fly front, glasses with a little scotch covered with plastic wrap poked with holes is killing the little buggers left and right. They love scotch, more than vinegar we've found. In case you ever are plagued, now you know!
There is nothing dull about you !! Shel would jump on opportunities like that to lovingly admonish those old tapes !! You have inspired me to be aware of negative tapes today and then either neutralize or better yet, positivize them (that IS the word I want right now!)

I can't wait to see the screen door!

And that's what fruit flies and I have in common. ;)
