Greetings Joyful Ones
No weight today. Need to get back to that habit. I am trying to sleep as much as I can to shake this cold. Used to be that I just went about my usual activities with a cold but I am now a big baby and want to play at being sick.
Hmm Ann, yard tools. My DH has a huge collection largely unused. Many are battery operated. Around here there are all these "garden supply" stores that sell stuff to the dope growers. These places are huge. But very good for tools for container gardens. I have some special Arthritis friendly pruners.
Shirley fabulous pictures. So glad you are getting the full California experience. Find some redwoods and you will have done it all.
Ann my DH used a CPAP for many years. I kind of think he might need it again though he sure doesn't snore like he used to. It was a big help to him and its gentle hum was soothing to me. We had to get a white noise machine because it is too quiet here! Anyway newer CPAPs are self titrating meaning they adjust the air pressure throughout the night to only what you need. They also provide humidity and have a "ramp" feature to start out very low and increase as you fall asleep. He also has a gadget called a NORA that looks like a heating pad placed inside pillow case. It listens and detects snoring and vibrates slightly to get you to turn your head without waking up. He likes it.
Thanks for the insight Diane O. Yep we all get down in the dumps over a few pounds. Don't know why we should all be so terrorized by numbers on a scale but thats how it its. I remember the absolute horror as a child being weighed at the pediatrician and being told to loose 10 pounds in the 6th grade. I'd sooner have a shot than be weighed.
I did a fair amount of junk tidying up yesterday and plan to do more today. But one full day at home is enough and I think I will get out and about a bit. But first, well you know....

Diane, thanks for the good CPAP info and the news about a NORA (which I'd never heard of before). I'm going to ask my doc for a sleep study and see what that reveals. I think I need to do that before working too much harder to fix a problem before I know what the actual problem is.

Yes I use CPAP since 2002. My family was built with no neck. My dad would snore so loud it would wake the neighbors. I remember waking short of breath in a panic when I was 5 years old. I have always snored as an adult. It was not until I was working as an ICU nurse watching people sleep or try to sleep. Heart rhythm changes, oxygen saturation would decline. Twitching fitful sleep. I have pretty significant apnea. I had my sleep study and got a machine and have used it every night since. I even sleep with CPAP machine if I am going to nap. I had one at my work location and one at home so I did not have to fly with an extra bag. They can make them very small these days. I sleep much better with CPAP. My DW is glad I have one. And glad she has one too.
DW got me a recliner. They told her it would arrive by the time I had surgery. It came yesterday. It is the lift chair type. It can lay flat. The foot rest and back move independently. Heated and massages. It fits me. It is very comfortable. And it was a good price. She is very giving person.
Had PT today. It was not bad but she said expect it to be more painful starting Monday. She said it would be gentle stretching. And to take my meds before the appointment.
Eating remains on target. Still losing a little.

That's a lot of good information, Dave, about CPAP and sleep issues. And your new recliner sounds like one of the best beds in the world. Massage and heat, eh? Pretty nifty!

It sounds like your DW takes good care of you and it is so nice that you don't take that for granted.

I had the UPPP and tonsillectomy surgery because my uvula was 4 times the normal size after steroids. It helped with snoring. I knew I needed a sleep study but when they had an opening it was too close to surgery. Surgery was a big help but CPAP was a fix. I encourage you to get a sleep study. It is a very important study. For sleep, mental health and pulmonary health. It was the biggest - You should have gotten this done so many years ago - moment in my life.

Well, that's pretty darned clear!
And I promise to get a sleep study. I really, really promise. Will see my doc about it soon.

Daily life, though routine, is a bit annoying the past few days. I want Ron to pull himself up by the bootstraps and get on with it. Instead, he is lying abou****ching TV from the time he gets home to the time it's bed time. Drives me F'ING NUTS! When he gets in these moods he also gets super passive aggressive. Yesterday I realized I was getting short and snappy with him. Tonight I will make an effort to be more pleasant, but I will not tolerate any negativity either. So there! LOL!
Weight was 263 +/- this morning. Have to get my head on straight to get this 3 pounds off.
Not much else... It's Friday. I'm tired from a long week.
Let Ron live with DC and I'll live with you !! Easy least....mostly !
