500 cc or ml = 16+ ounces!

She pulled out OVER 2 CUPS of fat from your sides! That's A LOT!!!!!!!

Just saying....

Glad it went well.

Perfectly normal to second guess surgery after it is already done. I am still in the so why did I have a total knee replacement camp. I am told I will be in the I am glad I did this in a few months. Hoping your healing is fast.

BB, it's good to hear from you and know you're home after surgery. I completely agree with others who've said you made a good medical decision, not a cosmetic one. Devon, I'm glad you're out of pain; may you stay that way. Dave, I'm glad you're going to double down on PT. It's the right way to go.

Handwaves to everyone else.

Wow ... I had a tough time sleeping last night. The 1.4 pound uptick in weight surely is because I weighed just after midnight. This morning I've taken it easy, which I enjoyed, but the interrupted sleep has me feeling not so peppy. Need to work some more on my sleep hygiene.

This afternoon I'll mow and work outside. This evening I'm going to a ****tail party for an educational charity I support. A typical Wednesday here in the Lower Midwest. :)

Liz, thank you so much for your facelift recovery story. It sounds pretty rough compared to my easy recoveries from VSG and gall bladder surgeries. I better get uber-organized before I return home, because I won't be able to do much for myself the first week or two (no bending over, no significant lifting). Thanks for the Dermablend tip; I'll be sure to get some.

BTW, I agree with others who think we need a backup gathering place for if/when OH goes kaput. Facebook also seems to me like the best place. I think we're all on FB, right?

For lunch today I'm making shrimp with a tomato cream sauce with parmesan and salad. Tonight is yesterday's salmon dinner leftovers. BTW, I'm even eating breakfast at the table now. And I'm not looking at my computer or my phone whenever I eat. It's really astonishing how much more taste and satisfaction I get out a meal that way.

However, I'm still struggling to get in enough water. My daily minimum is 40 ounces, which I haven't reached the last few days. Begin anew!

Today it's eighteen years after September 11, 2001, when I was in Washington, DC. Hard day. Hard to remember. Will never be over it.

Yes, 9/11 brings back some tough memories. My former boss was at a meeting in the towers and made it out by running down the stairs. Some of the people he was with didn't because they opted to try the elevator. Also a former neighbor/flight attendant was supposed to be on the plane that crashed but she swapped with a friend and did the same flight one day earlier. I remember we were all calling around asking if anyone had heard from Meg. Close calls...

My students now we're born 4 or so years after 9-11, and they have no personal memories. I play them this Alan Jackson song, and then we listen to Toby Keith's Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue, and compare and contrast tone, mood, message etc. Two ways of mourning...

One of my most poignant memories is when congress members gathered on the steps of the capitol together for a press conference. I can't remember who was speaking, but then someone started singing God Bless America, and suddenly all of congress joined in. I still get choked up when I think about it.

What a wonderful you seem to be having! No weight gain probably because you are so active.

I've only been to Tahoe once. 2 years ago my bff and I did a road trip from Minneapolis to San Francisco. Tahoe was one of our stops. It just blew my mind, it was so beautiful. Would love to go back for a longer stay.

Oh, boy! Root canal #2 was a breeze, but the aftermath of pain hit during the night. Luckily, it's not a constant pain, but only a sharp jarring pain when I accidentally close my jaw and the tooth is touched. It's not the tooth itself, but all the inflamed tissue around the tooth and at the base of the nerve where it was excavated and cauterized. OUCH! I woke up a good dozen times during the night from the sudden jolt of tissue pain. Tonight's dinner is going to be soft. The ham in my scramble, even though finely diced, was too much chewing to manage. It will be much better by tomorrow, I'm sure.

Weight still within the same 1/2 pound. Today was 264 on the dot.

I'm feeling like my life is quite routine compared to most of you, but it is probably my perception. I am grateful for the routine. It is grounding. I have a set schedule around which I can begin to plan and insert my life beyond grooming. Sort of exciting. Gardening will be part of the mix again. JOY!

Ella is in season. I'm excited that we will have Thanksgiving pups, if she conceives. Christmas vacation will be fun with 4 week old pups to play with. Just the thought makes me smile from the inside out. Imagine the photo opportunities with Airedale puppies and Christmas decorations. Okay, yeah, there's poop, but what the hell! I love puppies! I also made a judgement call and am breeding to the dog that speaks to my heart for all the right reasons, rather than breeding to the dog who might be a "better" dog. The dog I'm choosing is royalty, but has a major fault. I'm willing to overlook that fault, because his pedigree says it's a fluke. Ah, the beauty of using genetic history to predict the future.

Get to workout tonight. Had to take yesterday off after the root canal. Looking forward to moving my body!
