Liz, your counselor gave you great advice. I concur that the transition will probably be more difficult for you than for DH. Yes, do get Florida scheduled. It seems that you had a multitude of engaging activity options there. It will be a whole new experience now. Please reassure little guilt man that you don't need his help. Diane, sounds like your trip was fulfilling. Glad you got to interact with the little girl in your old home. Yes, investigate swimming at home and invest in another suit and a good pair of water sneakers. Peps, your progress and awareness are inspiring ! Ann, you too ! Peps, sorry to hear about Ron's bladder., lCeci, love the photos from the fall boat trip and veggie ideas. Are you starting to miss CA ? Shirl, you are certainly getting the most out of every moment !! Keep those pictures coming ! David and BB, speedy recoveries !! DD, hope you and DH keep stealing away water time. Miss Bonnie, retirement update... how is round #2 going ?

I'm feeling a bit blue today. For one thing, I'm really feeling the loss of Shel. For another, I'm finding it a challenge to vacation with someone who doesn't want to be active, primarily due to foot and hip pain...but that is also handy. We are not going to buy anything here...fleeting, misplaced plan. More later.

Good afternoon, friends. Today turned quite busy, too - yoga, errands, and an afternoon at my Ladies Club that supports educational opportunities for women. And I got a very late start this morning, thanks to taking two Tylenol PMs last night and the resulting 9.5 hours sleep time. ? I was pretty pooped after Monday's very early waking-up time and long (9 hours) trip to The Big City for my Medical Spa and neck lift consultation.

The neck lift (actually, it's more of a lower face lift) is more expensive than I thought it would be, but I think it might be worth it. Liz, thanks for your comments yesterday about your own lower face lift. The recovery time I've been told will be six weeks. So I've tentatively scheduled the surgery for December 26, just a few days after my return from the trip to Chile and Antarctica. That means I'll be at home recovering during all of January, which is an ideal time slot before any February travel I am planning now (some Gulf Coast beach time and a 10-day visit to NOLA for the heyday of Mardi Gras).

I continue to just adore all my clean cooking and eating mindfully activities. Tonight will be salmon with https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/broccoli-with-garlic-bac on-parmesan/ (or some variation thereon to reduce the fat calories).

So happy to hear from everyone today. DianeS, I'm glad you had such a wonderful trip. Shirl, you are REALLY getting your money's worth out of this trip to California. Good job! Devon, you're doing the good stuff. DianeO, glad your future housing plans are being clarified. And Liz--you've done a GREAT job taking care of your husband, and you will continue to do so. It's just a different way of caring for him. I'm very excited for the changes coming in your life very soon. Yes, it'll be challenging, but sooo very worth the investments you make in yourself. And I think yoga is a brilliant idea!

Sending love to all in lieu of a musical selection, because it's suppertime already! :)

Notes on recovery: I had a wicked headache for 2-3 days. I looked like I'd been beaten to a pulp for close to 10 days. At 12 days I was willing to venture out with heavy makeup to hide the bruising (dermablend which I bought ahead of time). At 4 weeks we went to Florida - I still needed some makeup but I don't think it was too obvious. At 6 weeks I looked normal more or less but still had some bumps under my skin on one cheek (noticeable to me but not others). By 6 months the bumps were gone and by a year most sensation was back (though some areas don't feel exactly as sensitive as they did before the procedure). At 2 years I had to have the scars behind my ears modified because they were puffy and bunchy (caused by a reaction to absorbable stitches) - he cut them out and used non-absorbable stitches, so all is good now.

If you ever do eyes, the recovery is much faster - about 2 weeks to look fairly normal and I think about 100% at one month. If I had to do a do-over, I would have done them at the same time as the facelift.

And btw, my friends were never sure I did anything and attributed my freshened up look to losing weight because I didn't see anyone until about a month after the facelift and almost 2 weeks after my eyes.

Yes, I do! I just had another F'ing root canal! Old movies would indeed be the ticket for tonight!

Actually, I'm glad to have it done. I don't have to deal with the nerve pain any longer!
