I will second DiamondD's ode from yesterday--"In Praise of My Sleeve." Yes, without my sleeve I couldn't be living this life.
I'm currently enjoying a festival of awareness by taking more notice of small things--like the grain of wood, the threads in a seam, the gold of first morning light as it hits my foot, the taste of nutmeg. No drugs, no wine, just taking it slow.
Whatever streets and alleys and piazzas I've wandered into on this cleansing diet and while walking in sunshine and ramping up my yoga practice, I really am liking the neighborhood!
Hope everyone's doing well or well enough.
Today's theme: "Morning Has Broken" (Cat Stevens)

Thanks- going on 33 hours with no sleep n hitting the wall
Just shared a chicken salad with DH. We got groceries after a walk & 3+ hours at Disneyland. Fridge is stocked with fruit, yoghurt, meat, cheese etc- packaged up rinds, almonds n fruit plus made sandwiches for tomm- Had a disgusting hot dog from 7 11 today- lots of it went in the bin.
6.20 kick off tomm with full day at Disney. Cant wait :)
Good morning from Old Orchard Beach, Maine ! The right hour trip went smoothly... the dogs continue to travel well ! Vacationing with DC is certainly different than being on my own ! I am focusing on asserting my need to get more physical activity than he is looking for. Since neither of us wants to drive a 32' RV towing a car, we rented a car to have while we're here.
Wow...wow on some the thoughts and realizations going on in our tribe. Ann, glorious job resetting food and outlook. Liz, it is natural to feel ambivalence about the end of the month. You are absolutely doing the right thing for DH and for yourself ! DD, yeah for limiting the visit, and for no tears ! Shirl... welcome to the US ! Ceci, sorry your DD's enthusiasm wained and good work managing your pain ! David, continue to recover and be gentle with yourself as you work that knee. Diane, picturing you out on that fabulous deck when you return from seeking some closure regarding your brother. I hope the news on your other brother is better. Peps, I'm continually amazed by the tremendous work outs... whether led by your trainer or self initiated. Your day to vacation right after Labor Day is coming ! Miss Bonnie, I'm thinking of you working and reworking your clay... almost like the ongoing changes you'll make to retired life! BB, positive thoughts for your upcoming procedure. I'm so glad you are being proactive. So much respect for your evolving outlook on food, health, motherhood and healthy balance.
We are all rocking this ! Our willingness to share, reflect, and truly support with affection is such a gift !

Hi all! It is quiet here today other than taking the cat to the vet because of a sore on her neck. They needed to shave and clean it but Lavender is so feisty they had to sedate her. Pickup soon I hope.
DSD is here until early afternoon tomorrow when she returns to post Dorian Jacksonville. This evening we are going to a support group meeting at the place where DH is going to reside and I've arranged a tour of it for DSD beforehand. We will see the room he will be moving to. He may be with us for the tour but I'm not sure it will have much impact.
Other than that Eating was pretty good yesterday and so far today. I haven't gone off the deep-end with anything. Right now that seems to be the best I can do.
Shirl and Diane, have wonderful vacations.
Enjoy a winning Wednesday!

Tooth pain reached a new level of torture this afternoon. Two Motrin and a boat load of OraGel later the nerve in the tooth seems to be sleeping. At one point the nerve was so damn angry it was making me sweat! Going to the Endodontist at 9 am. Praying for a root canal or some other equal relief.
Food was totally on point until this evening. Once my tooth was feeling better I went into soothe myself mode. I ate some of Ron's peanut butter pretzels - 3 dips into the bag equalling 18 pieces. Oh, well....
I did manage to exercise today. I figured it would either help calm my mouth down to be occupied with something else or exacerbate the crazy sensitivity. Taking the Motrin and then working out was a great call. The severe pain issues stopped as soon as I started working out. I've had a few flare ups since but nothing like the 2 straight hours of the tortuous Hell I went through today!
I'm such a wuss when it comes to tooth pain. I can handle other types of pain, but tooth pain turns me into a total puddle of NON stoicism.
Still, have to say, I am feeling very blessed tonight. I have dental insurance and money enough to cover what the insurance won't. Relief is in sight.
