143.2 Day 9
Puppy has gone home. Will have time to play in artsy-fartsy stuff. Diane, the mention of Spam sculpture reminded me that I have a rather large block of clay that I can use to "whittle". While I cannot fire it- I can treat it like play dough- use -reform and reuse to my hearts content. Oh, think of the masterpieces I can make and then destroy!
BB- what I wanted to ask you - if I may- am I correct in assuming that any excess skin will be addressed during surgery- that is, you will return to a smaller, but still perky silhouette, nips forward and all that. (If I'm asking an impertinent question, please blow me off, but inquiring minds (mine) want to know.
goal!!! August 20, 2013 age: 59 High weight: 345 (June, 2011) Consult weight: 293 (June, 2012) Pre-Op: 253 (Nov., 2012) Surgery weight: 235 (Dec. 12, 2012) Current weight: 145
TOTAL POUNDS LOST- 200 (110 pounds lost before surgery, 90 pounds lost Post Op.diabetes in remission-blood pressure normal-cholesterol and triglyceride levels normal! BMI from 55.6 supermorbidly obese to 23.6 normal!!!!
Nope. No lift, just explant.
I'm hoping all is ok, but PS seems to think it's smart to at least do it in 2 steps. Hoping that the second step won't be necessary. I never had excess skin up top after weightloss so I'm hoping there's some elasticity left that will save me. The scars are pretty severe so it would have to be pretty gnarly for me to undergo that.
In thinking about Bonnie's PS, I was reflecting on my own body. BTW, Bonnie I think you are doing the right thing in trusting your instincts. Anyway, I've realized that my legs and boobs actually look better with a little more weight than my lowest (though I should still reverse at least 10). But my back and hips bother me. Lipo? I think I need to stop thinking about that though until I lose at least the 10... And with the big bills coming for DH's care it probably doesn't make sense. I just don't like the muffin I get in back now. Arghh...
DSD is back from Marthas Vineyard mid-afternoon and now scheduled to fly back to Florida on Thursday. She stayed in MV an extra day to help her aunt do the post-summer cleaning and batten the house down in case Dorian scoots by later in the week. All of the island is dangerous when high winds come through and the house is on the harbor. DSD wouldn't have been able to get to her apartment today even if her flight hadn't been cancelled as there is mandatory evacuation in Jacksonville Beach where she lives and the bridges to get there are closed.
In the meantime, DH is at daycare and I am at the beach! Beautiful, warm yet breezy, and QUIET! Water always brings my spirits up. 27 days until DH moves, so there are lots of mixed feelings to be had. I'm working on the packing list for him - I think I've got most everything.
Have a timely Tuesday!

Good luck with class.
Able to get 1/2 in more bend in the knee today. Needs to be at 90 degrees on follow up visit.
Still not wanting to graze much. Eating is ok.
Pain was better yesterday. Ran out of pain pills from the orthopedic doctor. I think they a little stingy with them. I have plenty of others but they make me itch a little.
