Passive aggressive describes it! Like he wanted a medal for suffering in silence through something that was his idea...

Ann I too find my sleeve has much more power when I eat whole foods. I really do think whole, nutritious, but still delicious food**** the switch in our brains that say, full. And we know that food scientists work long hours to develop devilishly delicious processed food that does not signal satiety, because they want us to keep buying and eating.

I'm experimenting with my Irish porridge. I made a pot yesterday with one cup of steel cut oats. Yield, gallons of porridge. Well, not really, but enough to last me the week. It heated up nicely, threw in some blueberries and sf torani vanilla. I want to see how long a serving keeps me full before I decide to use it as a workday breakfast.

I have every reason to believe this is going to be a great school year. Still want to be retired. I'm sure I'll be more energized once I'm with the students.

General putzing today, laundry, food prep, water my flowers, read the paper.

Remember my bff who comes to stay with us for weeks at a time? (She lives in Mexico). We had nicely segued to a plan that she was welcome for 3 weeks (she usually comes twice a year, at Christmas and in the summer. Her son and grandchildren live in Minneapolis, but for many reasons, space being one, it doesn't work to stay with them.)Even with a 3 week time limit, two visits a year means 6 weeks of someone else in my kitchen, using my washer, the family room tv, another car on the driveway , talking so loud in Spanish on her phone, etc. But we are her family, so yes, she can stay. Her other host is her Uncle. Well, he's moving a few hours away this fall. And right now she is planning to arrive in Minnesota mid October to attend a dear friends wedding, and then staying until January. She asked if she could stay part of the time with us, and I said sure, and asked what her options were for the rest of her stay. No answer. I'm afraid there are none, at least none I'm aware of. So DH and I are talking, and he's pretty much, just tell her she can stay with us the whole time if she needs to and we'll make it work. Not sure I'm ready to do that. More to come on this topic I'm sure.

Re the BFF's visit ...

First, your husband is a prince of a man!

Second, no. ;)

P.S. I'm not projecting at all.

As someone *****charges her batteries by being alone in my space and who also loves her friends, three weeks would be really hard to agree to and October to January would be a hard NO.

Greetings to the Stars of our little constellation.

On the ledge still. Nothing will change it unless I take action. Maybe someday I will be ready for action. Right now I feel sort of inert.

Hey Diamond, my dad was an engineer and when I was way little he went to Greenland a lot to work on the foundations for that air base and the radar installation. It was super secret at the time - at least the radar was. So our dads were probably there at some of the same times.

Ann you are so eloquent. Meditation is indeed not about becoming a better meditator. I remember the old Auntie Mame movie in which she was given a hellion of a horse to ride named "Meditation". Hilarious movie.

Cecily, sorry your dad was a hiking grump. Indeed, why go it only to be a cranky pants.

A fresh batch of cheese crisps are made and we are going to friends for a small dinner. Then finish picking up the house for the sitter and packing and readying for crack of dawn flight. DH kindly washed the bedding in the guest room.

Dave baby that new knee.

Kiln opens today so we will swing by on the way to dinner. Thats it. Diane S

Good Morning All - last post I expect as I will be in the air this time tommorrow..... Cant believe its finally here

We get picked up at 2am tommorrow morning and driven to the airport

Another late night but a lovely one - we went over to meet our new grandson and hes gorgeous. Spent the night playing with our elder grandson as he has a dose of the green eyed monster happening. He loved the books we bought him

Todays agenda is finalising everything at work and doing handover to my director and packing - yes I basicially havent started - oops! Taking my son out to dinner when he gets home from Uni tonight as a thank you. I picked Meat Empire as he is a true carnivore. Should mean I can make better choices than I have been of late. Might share with DH. I expect that will happen a lot in the States

Ann - You are doing so well with detoxing. I will be coming to you for tips when I get home from this trip. Can you be my coach please :)

Liz - Thinking of you and your family with Dorian. Hope your DSD can stay a few more days with you

Miss - You are also blitzing detoxing - well done :) I will also be coming to you for tips I expect

Leap - Been thinking of you as you start to heal with your new knee. Hope that each day gets a little easier than the last one

Cec - Sorry the hike wasnt as you had hoped for - bummer. Enjoy dinner this evening with your friends

DD - Your day sounds lovely and relaxing. Good on you for considering a house guest for that long - I love having people but months on end would start to fray me around the edges

Diane - Thinking of you as you travel to your brothers memorial. Hope that it brings you some comfort Big Hugs

Peps - I can now say - see you later this month ! Wahoo. Looking forward to meeting you

BB - Hope all is well with the girls

Diane O - Good luck as you prepare your motor home for your trip. No doubt lots to think about

Hugs to anyone else I have missed - mind is a little all over the show this morning. I will feel much better once I have my case packed and clothes laid out. Both our working dogs have taken residence on the bed surrounding my case and settled there. It appears I will have an audience this morning as I pack. They definately know something is going on. I will miss them all lots

Will try and post from Sydney Airport in between flights - assuming they are running on time etc - if not will post once I am Stateside

Shirley

Dogs and cats ALWAYS know when we're about to leave them.

I once had a cat who would lie down in my suitcase while I was packing and refuse to get out.

Do not know how I missed you in my list. Safe travels. Good luck to your DH for getting his degree. I got my BSN when I was 38 or 39. I think I value it more as a non traditional student. The knee is getting better every day.
