Oh, Cecily. I wish I were there and could go with you.

Or maybe we could just both go to the Minnesota State Fair together.

Hugs!

Greetings Gifts

Still on the ledge. Feeling fat. Its the dang almonds. Can't stay away from them.

Today has been good so far. The opening of college football which I have grown to love even though I used to think watching sports was a sign of senility. Our team won even though it was pretty weird and the defense and special teams scored more points than the offense. Funny actually.

What wonderful comments. Wish I could go to the Minnesota state fair. Skipped our little county fair this year. Very dinky though a corn dog is a corn dog.

Wonderful of you to share your thoughts Peps. You are indeed a gifted writer. And the poem. I should read more stuff like this. And listen to Leonard Cohen.

Errands today to prepare for our trip. Twice my car thought I was trying to steal it and the alarm went off and I had to call DH because I couldn't figure out how to stop it. Its all electric and gets weird sometimes. I may need a new battery in the key fob.

Trip plans are shaping up. Brother's memorial will be a long day and I am going with my niece to her dog club that evening. So I am going to schedule nap time. Too many events per day (like more than two) will take me down.

Cecily I totally get how you feel about social gatherings. It used to be that the worlds most scary thing for me was going to a party where I didn't know anyone. I avoided it at all cost. Even now I don't much care for it. So remember you can leave quickly. I used to hate bar association parties because though I knew people, I was shorter than most people and felt like a dwarf in a sea of dark suits. Maybe look for a person who is along and talk to them. Or not.

Hey Ann, I may have mentioned that my very best friend in the whole world (who died 4 years ago) and who was an astonishing decorator had the word "PEACE" in large gold letters in her kitchen. Thats what her charming home represented to her. Her elderly neighbor say though the window and asked why it said "PEA" since she couldn't see the whole thing. At this point in life Peace is indeed very desirable.

Thats all for now. Diane S

I survived. Everyone was very nice. I stayed for an hour and 15 minutes then used Ferg pills as an excuse. Ugh!

Welcome home. Was just about to ping you and see if you were still at the party. BTW, I'm in bed, too. And I'm a certified extrovert.
