Thanks! A labor of love as they say. Tonight's dinner had cucumbers, tomatoes, dill, and green onions that I grew. Very satisfying!

BB, you are my Musical soulmate! You and I have such similar thoughts about theater, movie musicals, etc... I decided many years ago that the golden years of MGM musicals spoiled me for much else. It doesn't get much better than the Freed Unit movies, does it?!

I also had the exact same thought as BB this morning as I stepped off the scale. I thought to myself, "I should lose just 4 pounds. That will put me back in the 250s and I can take it from there." So, I'm going with that. 4 pounds is doable. LOL.

The "problem/non-problem" is that most of the time these days I'm pretty happy in my skin and enjoy eating the way I'm eating. However, I know there is room for improvement in the quality of my food choices, so I'm going with that rather than the I MUST LOSE WEIGHT. I also want to uncover my hard work at the gym. So, there it is. My reasoning. Such a change from I WANT TO BE THIN.

Diane O, gorgeous pics. I'm glad you were able to carry Shel's spirit with you.

Diane S. thank you for sending a little of your north coast weather my way. It was delicious last night with all the windows open and the temperatures being in the 60s! You are so right that we can be grateful for what we have even when it seems less than ideal.

David, keep watching Adalyn. I get to see the changes over time with my students. The wonder and excitement is more contained, but it is definitely still there!

Liz, sorry you reached another milestone in DH's decline yesterday. Thank goodness he stayed in the parking lot and didn't start off down the street. His cognitive decline and resulting behavior is beginning to become a real threat to his safety. So terribly sad.

Shirl, have you always been such a go getter, or has some of that come about from the weight loss? Clearly, you are a caretaker by nature, though.

Ceci, I'm so glad you posted today. I really am.

I hope the travelers are all doing well.

I'll join you with the 4 lbs Peps :) Goal is 2lbs a week or more if Im greedy - Hop on and join me for the ride :)

Yes Ive always been a busy person who found it hard to rest. That being said - every now and again I crash and top up with a huge sleep and blobville for a day as I call it. My family is my world and Im happiest when Im caring for them or those close to me. It brings me a sense of grounding and joy to be able to do that for them

My weight loss has made it easier on my body as Im up for either a partial or full knee in the not to distant future. Less pressure on my joints is a blessing...

Greetings Sunday Sojourners

If not now, when indeed! Enjoyed my cafe au Shel this morning and now wishing the sun would come out. I had hoped we would take dog Chip to the beach. He is getting older and kind of clingy and I thought he would enjoy the outing. Guess we could still go without sun. There will be fewer people though its never really crowded here.

BB glad you are enjoying your children. You are right to kind of let the parenting journey design itself yet be open to opportunities. I've always thought that being observant and being able to recognize opportunities rather than wearing blinders was a good secret to success at anything. Hmmm, how can I turn that into weight control success? Being open to what is out there I guess. And I think a four pound goal is a fine one.

Liz I am sure your experience with DH in the parking lot tells you that you are doing the right thing by him. Good for you.

DianeO, that bridge is indeed scary looking. Good on you for letting Shel guide you through. I'd like to think I would do the bridge but not sure I would. Glad you are having a great trip.

Dave I thought of you and your sawmill while I was at the gallery yesterday. Our building is over 100 years old and has massive redwood floors. You can see the old sawmill marks on the planks even though we sanded them a few years ago. I think they used old steam powered saw mills way back when.

Speaking of gallery, I had the customer from hell yesterday. Never shut up and made nasty remarks about environmental preservation. I was really glad to get rid of her. But I behaved myself and deserve a gold star.

Yoo Hoo Diamond! Enjoy Ireland!

Shirley I keep forgetting its winter for you. You are so industrious! Lets share an egg bite.

Peps, glad you are getting some cool weather. Don't know if your school is air conditioned but ours were not and certain times of year were miserable. And I am with you on musicals that are over orchestrated and not sound balanced. Watching the John Legend Jesus Christ Superstar performance on tv DH and I were both so annoyed that the orchestra drowned out the singers. Our nephew is a sound engineer for venues and a band called Dumsterfunk. A much needed service.

Why is it that I have nothing to wear and yet endless laundry to do.

Well time for egg bites. Diane S

Passing you some nicely warmed egg bites Diane :) They will be a staple for my breakfasts or lunch before I come over I think - quick and easy

Yes its dreary winter here - though we tend to get nicer weather at the farm. Can have a frost overnight up there but then end with blue skys - you rug up and get out amongst it. I get cabin fever if Im cooped up inside for too long. Imagine how I would be if I was ever snowed in etc - Oh My ! The freezers would be full as I would cook n cook

Good Morning All :) Start of the working week and back at the city house with a long list here to get done. Grocery delivery arriving around 9am - did a big shop for DS to eat while we are away. Parcels to collect from Post Office during lunch break. A chook house to clean out and feeders to top up - over to Mums to meet with the Will Guy to finalise our wills and mums. Haul more firewood down to under cover. I have just started the wood fire. Sick sick sick of all this rain down at city house - cant get the lawns mowed as its like a swamp! Looking forward to some warmth in a little over 2 weeks !!!! WAHOOOOOOOOO

Finally was brave enough to hop back on the scales - avoidance big time. I had geared for a huge gain but was a little surprised to see 178.2 - still not good but I had thought it would be around 184's - which would have been deserved given what I have put in my mouth the past few weeks. Must stop and get my weight down before I come to the States. I think my saving grace is all the moving I do but imagine if I ate well and still did that too- perfect combo as I do no formal exercise (bad I know!)

BB - Hope Becca heals fast. Awful when your little cherubs are under the weather. Good for you - finding the balance that works for your family. Im going to adopt your weight loss practise in chunks. I would like my chunk to be 4lbs in the fortnight I have left before coming to the states - or more if I can make it

Hope Ann and DD are having a wonderful trip :) Look forward to hearing all about it

I will respond to everyone else under their posts

Have a wonderful Sunday Evening

Poor Becca, anesthesia can really make a wee one sick to their stomach. Hope she bounces back quickly. Adalyn has been progressively well for longer periods of time. Before the tube placement she was sick constantly.

Hectic past few days. Brother and SIL left today. As the Airstream is tiny we have been visiting in the shop. Also, They have been sleeping in the shop on a blow up mattress. At least it is cool in there. And the AC in DD apartment is out and the manager is on vacation. No emergency numbers. It was 90 inside so she just turned around and came back to the shop. She has a pack and play set up. I hope Adalyn can sleep. We did manage to get a roof over the sawmill but it was truly too hot to do much.

I got on the scales tonight to see what the damage was and I remained where I was before they came. 269. Which is down 4 lbs over 3 weeks. I have 10 days til surgery so maybe I can lose another 4.
