I'll start us off today, but without a lot to say.

I'm eating quite cleanly, even rigidly this week -- lots of protein, veggies, a couple of fruits and that's it. For some time, I've been wanting to take a break from all sugars, breads, grains and even (gasp!) alcohol. And after the last few months of comfort eating my body has demanded a dietary cleanse.

Next week at the beach with friends I hope that my cleaner way of eating this week will positively influence my usual vacation over-indulgence style of eating. The good news is that I'll be with people who aren't over-eaters and like to cook. Wish me luck!

After I come home (a week from today), I'll go back to my current cleansing regimen.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. :)

Today's big to-do is dragging a newly fallen dead tree into the woodpile.

xoxoxo and hope that we can each embrace what the day brings.

Breathing,

Ann

P.S. I just checked Facebook ... PAULA GOT A RING!

I saw Paula's news on FB too: She looks so happy!

I am still doing poorly with evening eating and wine drinking. That was always my nemesis, especially when I am unhappy or bored.

Today there is nothing on the agenda (DH is home) and it is cloudy. Hopefully it will brighten up a bit and I'll take DH and Justice for a walk. I did get my car washed at 8 am this morning before DH and DS were up so at least I accomplished something!

Tomorrow while DH is at daycare I'm going with a friend to look a****erfront homes. Nice to dream! Though I have been thinking about downsizing to a condo after DH moves. I'd probably wait a bit, but I was thinking a small 2 bedroom, 2 bath with a water view would be nice. The water view would be crucial as I don't feel like I would leave my current home without that. Most other criteria would be negotiable.

Have a well Wednesday!

I have those thoughts about my California house. What would a new house have to have to make it worth it to move? For me, I'd want a bigger yard, smaller house, one story, and a view of something with no fire danger (views often come with fire possibilities given our hills, vegetation, and droughts). Nearly impossible to find there. But it's fun to look and think about!

Exactly! I have seen some affordable condos listed in the next town that have water views and a private beach in a nice area. Affordable means not spending more than my current home is worth. I would have to either be in my current town or have deeded beach rights because there is only one ocean beach in the next town and though pretty it is way too busy. Falmouth (where I live) has around 11-12 beaches.

First day of school for the kids. They should start arriving in about 10 minutes or so. Nice to have a late start day as the first day of school.

I've had some feels getting ready for school to start. I realized that my anxiety level was so high yesterday that I felt like I had tears building up. I acknowledged the feeling and it started to wane. I will admit I did do a bit of comfort eating yesterday in the way of a brownie and a half.

Saw Paula's news. I'm happy for her!

Work out was "brutal" in the best of ways yesterday. Warm up was on legged Bosu ball push up, but with my foot NOT ON THE FLOOR BUT ON A HARD EXERCISE BALL! OMG! INTENSE! But, I could do it! The rest of the workout focused on chest and I was happy with my work.

Was basically on the go from 7:15 am until 7:45 pm, so after dinner I just kind of fell into a heap watching tv and surfing the net and hit the sack at 11 pm. 6 came far too early this morning.

Well, gotta go meet a new group of excitedly nervous 8 year olds!

New guests rolled in today, but I don't know them well, so I don't have to participate much!

I checked my garden and was surprised I missed 2 GIGANTIC zucchinis. Seriously, bigger than my arm. Since they get seedy when they get that big, I went with zucchini bread. It made 4 big loaves. 3 I'm giving away to neighbors (just walked one next door and they inhaled half while we were talking in the kitchen!).

My hike yesterday was good, but I used All Trails (a hiking app with maps that keeps track of you via gps) and it kept telling me I was off track. Which made me nervous as there was not a soul out there and the trails were not marked well. So for an hour I was worried I had gotten myself lost. But I figured being on a sort of groomed trail I was going to come out somewhere with people. And I did. There was a beautiful overlook with a view of several islands out in Lake Michigan:

It's a panoramic shot, so not sure it'll look right on here... And there is a very famous old farm/barn called the DH Day Farm that was near the trailhead. There are way better pictures of it online.

Greetings All

Still at a big fat 160. I don't do that badly except for late night almonds. Not cool. Need to find a strategy. Probably should go back to serious tracking as that's when I went off the rails.

GL with school starting Peps. Hope there is some relief from the ridiculous program requirements. I don't suppose they ever ask the actual teachers how they feel about these new instruction systems. Be inspired by the new kids who are lucky to have you. Can't even imagine your work out.

Yay for Paula. Happiness so deserved.

Gallery duty today. I plan on listening to audio book plus do some leg squats. Then I have to stay late for a board meeting so guess I should prepare for that.

Chicken pot pie last night. (half). Bacon and tomato tonight. I picked up some chick pea spaghetti and may try that. The lentil pasta was super filling and has some protein.

I would like a new house but can't stand the idea of packing up our considerable junk. My friend says I should just buy the house next door for DH to fill with junk. Its appealing.......

Later and congrats Paula.

Diane, if you decide to start tracking again (and as you know that always helps me out -- probably mostly because it encourages me to PLAN my daily foods, not just eat what shows up on my plate), here's something else that also helps me out: A nice kitchen scale that isn't high-profile or ugly on the bar. I bought it several months ago on Amazon:

Best to you!

Been getting 10 hrs of sleep last couple of nights. Good rest. Waking up so stiff from being in the bed so long.

Down another pound this morning. Just eating less. Then another 2 lbs after loading and unloading 300 board ft of cherry that I got from the guy that we got the sawmill. Just swea****er loss I'm sure. We will see in the morning. I lost half a pound from the beginning of my bath until after. I guess I just need to take 20 baths a day.

Appointment in the morning to get medical clearance for surgery.

Adalyn has been sick with roseola. Rash from head to toe. DD has virus of some kind. Temp of 103. I baby sat Adalyn one day. She was pretty miserable. They are both feeling better today.

More later, David
